Just tell Tony what the full “EC” number on the label is and you will get the right one. They work off those codes rather than manufacturers part numbers.

    Re: Indesit WG1286 Module type

The board is usually recoverable with a soldering iron and some wire reinforcement. It is normally the live feed into the board which fails – causes can vary from poor contact from the edge connector to the motor labouring due to consistent overloading or partial blockages/worn pump.

    Pull the plug first………

The microwave oven is a very nasty beast – certain circuits are running at 2.5kV, so extreme caution is to be advised. A typical heater will meter out at 20-50ohms, and should show no earth leakage.

The element for your appliance is p/no 282790; £72.85+vat+p&p; contact http://www.bshappliancecare.co.uk if you wish to order.

Considered advice really would be don’t try this yourself – check Directories or repairs@ for a UKW repairer in your area.

I trust you didn’t pay someone to come and write down the numbers from your appliance?

Error code 130, Jo. It’s a rotor position sensor error; can be caused by poor connections in the harness, faulty sensor or the infamous module.

Pull the plug if you’re going in……..

Temperature sensor out of circuit DP, IIRC.

    Re: Hotpoint WMT02 fault

This would suggest a temperature specific fault. As the sensor should detect all temperatures, this would point towards a computer board fault – not detecting a 40c wash.

I would suggest trying other programmes at different temperaures to confirm this, if it is specific to the 40c wash it may be time for some pro help – computer boards do run to a bit of a price.

Waay-Hey – work tomorrow……. The holiday went on to a new nadir when we visited the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth on Thursday. When I commented on the absence of Penguins, I was told that they tended to “act with an irresponsible regard to the rest of the exhibits” and were no longer kept at the Aquarium. I commented that this seemed a little harsh, but was told in no uncertain manner that this meant that they ate the fish in the tanks 😯 . They didn’t actually mind that so much as them legging it to the nearest chippie to get the chips as well…..

Re: Salt residue – Bosch SMS6032

Run it empty but with detergent a few times. This should effectively sluice out any excessive salt desidues. Try not to think about replacing salt chambers and softeners, even we professionals develop a bit of a twitch at the thought of it.

Check whether the dishwasher is heating. The machine is a Bosch appliance in disguise, the “Eco” wash will equate to the the “Quick” wash and run against time as opposed to temperature. Normally the programme would “hold” for the heat sequence, but not on that particular one.

Re: whirlpool awm 327- softener not draining away

Remove soap drawer from machine and look up into the roof of the soap box. There should be various holes to allow water to run into the various compartments, and the ones for the softener section are so ans soes for clogging up. Scrub with brush first, if no improvement you will need a pipecleaner, tierap or any skinny flexible medieum to rod back through the holes.

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

Theoretically it’s a temperature sensor problem – sensor failed, wiring broken at terminals (famous fault) or associated circuitry on the computer board. Awkward one – pro help often best bet.
