In theory, the trickle feed from the condenser should wash the fluff down to th epump in a low concentration, so the pump should get rid of it.

    Hi TGD,
Sounds like you’ve found it….. there should be a trap pulls out with the cap, and that’s it. Do you actually have a problem with the machine, or are you the first poster on the site ever to indulge in a bit of preventative maintenance? 😀

Two things to consider – 1) is the water supply turned on and 2) has the blanking plug/closed end been removed from the drain coupling under the sink – this an ASTONISHINGLY common problem, and adds to the general feeling amongst appliance engineers that all kitchen fitters are going downstairs when they sign off!

At three years old, it is unlikely that the motor brushes will be worn out yet – possible if you have hordes of kids, but pushing it a bit. The motor may have failed, but then it wouldn’t run in the wash………. So – electronic board is the most likely culprit. With the power off, check for dry/burnt joints.

If you are not sure about how to proceed, please get pro help. You can check in repairs@ukwhitegoods.com or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.
