ParticipantPaul,
Whatever they put in the book is usually the simplest explanation of what may be wrong with the machine and never actually tells you what to do about it.The display described is not one I recognise; I would suggest hanging fire till Monday – people will be back in the ofice then and may be able to figure this out for you..
Remember – washing up is a theraputic experience and keeps Marigold in business, so you are still contributing to the greater good of the UK.

ParticipantDave,
This is a damned fine review of where we’ve got to. I confess that I don’t work for any of the companies outlined above, but would agree that payment can be a major issue – these firms are all far bigger than we are and must understand that it’s a two way street. We specialise in property work for Estate Agents, Letting Agencies, Landlords and the like and they are all FULLY aware that if they expect prompt service, we expect prompt payment. Apex are currently on stop (again…) and Headinley Estates and Express Lets got sacked (Very satisfying, sacking a customer – they don’t like it at all. Especially in Leeds, where all these agencies are working together to maintain their market).
“You mean you DON’T use Quality Washer Repairs?” 😥
Pay up and we’ll be there on Monday. There is influence to be used in every field, we should use it. Fully.

ParticipantFlipping ‘eck, it was only a simple question – look at this lot!
NO would have been enough…….

ParticipantOh Dear. Will probably have to study Ballemory and other such in more detail – just to make sure it’s suitable for the kids – you understand; don’t you?
Anyway – Tom the Cabin Boy said – Nothing!

ParticipantKirk,
It’s all a bit of a moot point, really. The great majority of these enquiries end up with “Get an engineer” as the lack of any technical expertise is revealed. Relatively few get down to a detailed fix, and bear in mind that if they’re asking in here they’re probably not prepared to pay anyway. With a bit of luck UKW will make a few bob from a spares sale on some of these – but it’s the same problem as when you sell a spare in your shop – you’ve lost the real money, so MAKE THEM PAY!Regards,

ParticipantThe “flooded base” problem is the undertray of the machine filling with water. A float switch mechanism will over-ride the programme and run the drain pump continuously. Draining the tray will reset the float switch, but you must find out why it leaked in the first place.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first.

Participant66 I think – we don’t all make it to proper old age. Bloody hilarious when that chimney went down – thank God no-one was really about. Also one where he chopped the bottom out, propped it up on timbers and then burnt them out – it didn’t quite drop straight……….. “Bit close that, lad” he said.
Like I said – one off.

November 12, 2004 at 8:41 pm in reply to: creda 37747 tumble dryer thermal cut out switches help? #119207Penguin45
ParticipantJackie,
The operating thermostat is switching on the neutral side of the element, the safety thermostat trips on the live feed. Without a circuit diagram, it would be a question of tracing the wiring back with a test meter. If you are unable to do this, you must get professinal help. The element will probably have survived intact; again a test meter will confirm this.
Whatever you do, pull the plug first.

Owzabout kitchen fitters? They definitely need sorting out! 😆

ParticipantThe theme tune was “Pickin’ The Blues” by Grinderswitch – a real bunch of good ole southern boys.
JP’s left a helluva a legacy though, doubt he’ll be forgotten quickly.

ParticipantYou have turned the cold water back on, Roy… Those little plastic levers don’t always do the job! Next thing is to placement of all those little edge connectors – theoretically they can only fit one way, but life ain’t always like that.
The solenoid coils should give a reading of 3.5 – 4 Kohms when out of circuit, so check that as well.
Remember the plug – we don’t want any infortunate accidents.

ParticipantRe: busy,busy,busy..how about you?
I’m currently booking work for next Tuesday……. And I’m working Saturday. We do about 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} private, 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} property maintenance and we prioritise the private work first, ‘cos we get paid on the spot. Mercenary, but Hey, I’ve got to earn a living!
Sorry, I don’t want contract work – unless I can take on an engineer, which I’d rather not do. Regrettably, we are turning away new clients at present – to another reputable local engineer whom I’ve known for years. Complete dinosaur – no computer – but reliable and honest.
Good luck to all if it keeps going this way.
Chris.

ParticipantHi Bman,
Not syphoning is it? Also the OOB setup on these things is notoriously sensitive. Last rinse is usually a deep one, so you should see water!Hope that’s a little bit of help, feel free to join in fully – the more the merrier!
Cheers,
Chris. -
