ParticipantMost likely motor brushes worn down – I suspect this what Dave is gettihg at with the Lights Out bit!
BTW Paul, if it is the brushes you’ll hear them as
it ramps up to high spin – a sort of crackling, roaring noise.Regards,

ParticipantWelcome Nige, to something rather special. Enjoy it, all comments welcome, especially if you tell us everything! Mind you read on and you’ll find out lots as well…
Curious where people’s interest lie – this thread went to sleep 3 months ago and all of a sudden – little nugget of info. Great.

ParticipantThere was one of these in the Public Forums recently with (supposedly) 15 flashes – turned out to be wash thermistor fault – so – you can never be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
Sorry,
Chris.

ParticipantIf it’s the old series machines it’s time to investigate the blue tubes in the bottom of the sump. Clean them, associated pressure tubing and keep your fingers crossed. The pressure switch can fill up with water with these oldies by the way.
Ah, it was all so much fun. Good grief, am I turning into Old Tog II?

ParticipantYou get assembly/dissassembly instructions, circuit and wiring diagrams and exploded diagrams with parts listings.
There’s no in-depth tech info at all.

ParticipantLindy,
You’ll have to come up with the model number at least and preferably the serial number as well to let DC try and solve this for you. Check the user book for the model number, failing that it will be on a rating plate on the underside of the hob.DO NOT try and lift it – it will be attatched to a rigid copper pipe, peek underneath if you can.
Failing that, get the pros in – you don’t want to make ANY mistakes with gas. You can check in the Directories for a local UKW engineer, or, put your postcode up in here and someone will pick up on it.

ParticipantHas this new forum gone to sleep, or did I kill it with that last post?
But seriously folks, is it generating much interest?

ParticipantA multi function selector switch on an oven? SEE – I know everyfink – I fink.
Seem to drop like flies on most brands as far as I can tell. The off function seems to turn the light off on the front without actually cutting the power to the switch – can’t be good technically.
It’s easier going to the dentist sometimes…

ParticipantJon,
Give us a bit of info with regards the symptons.1) Is the compressor (motor) running continuously?
2) If you back off the thermostat knob, does it “click”; or stop the compressor? This’ll give the fridge lads a bit to go at.
