Re: Kenwood KDW243 Lower arm not washing

Alternator valve failure most probably. Integral with the wash motor, so replacement of the entire unit required.

Being a Chinese jobby, I really wouldn’t do it – it’s not worth that much.

Not cancelling is a classic fault on these. EMW is your cheapest option.

I think Helo will tell you that it’s a pcb/software fault.

With the power off, see if the motor is free to turn – it should feel “heavy” but not stiff. If it doesn’t turn, it may be blocked or seized due to leakage. If it does turn, the start device may be faulty. Two different versions using two different systems, so need the full model number to advise further.

I’d be tempted to try it in a different socket……. Failing that something is probably amiss with the pcb.

    Oh gawd……… It’s a Chinese-built one.

Yup, the water is in the tray under the machine and the flood protection system has tripped.

Plug out, towels down, tip the machine to one side to drain. It should then re-set. If it does it again, find the leak.

Do not be tempted to spend any real money on it, the build quality is just awful and the elctronics are madly unreliable. Oh, and they leak. Regularly.

    Good luck,

Possibly a foreign body in the circulation pump – the filters don’t seem to work all that well on these.

Power off, strip down and remove is your on;y course of action.

    Power off first, please.

    Re: Whirpool ADP6000 Error 4

    Ain’t no ADP600 that I can find………

Assuming that this is a UK machine, F4 is no drain detected in the time allowed. If the machine isn’t draining, you may have a blockage in the drain pump or sink spigot (if applicable). If it is draining, the Water Level Indicator (WLI) may be full of fatty deposits and not re-setting. This is the black grid in the sump housing under the filters. Lots of hot water and a good scrubbing with an old toothbrush may clear it – if it doesn’t, it’s a twist fit from underneath, which will allow you full access. The light-action microswitch may have failed, in which case you’ll need a replacement unit.

More sophisticated units use an optical unit -again a good scrub of the probes in the sump may restore function, if it doesn’t, a new unit will be required.

Power off if fixing this yourself.

    What are you talking about?

Pull the plug, tip the machine back to a good, stable angle and do it from underneath. You can either release the locking lug and remove the pump as an assembly, or you deal with the three screws holding the pump motor in place in situ.

A suitable replacement pump motor unit is available through the shop@ facility on the site for between £10 and £15 depending on model.

If you have to keep on posting in these forums, please get your facts and advice correct.
