    Re: trouble logging in??

It’s probably all my fault….. Just for once, I wanted some help, typed in “inolreM” (That’s backwards, just in case it does it again) and the whole thing borked. Sorry.

Anyway, going to post the question again, so if it goes off-line in the next five minutes, it’ll be my fault, Again.

Side panel off, lift tab and slide… Awkward, not difficult (Haven’t done one for a while. 263330 is the valve, BTW.

It’s a Haier, so Q1: Do you really want to get involved?

    Yes, it’ll be the heater.

Timer/pcb unit. They’ll never pay for that. Forget it, enjoy holiday.

Fascinating link. What we need now is a really old engineer to cast his mind back……

The MIRA pics were quite alarming – I have just completed a 4 year restoration of a Wolseley 18/85 – seeing one going Splat! into the wall was a bit of a shock.

    😀

Doesn’t look like it’s fitted……. If not wiring, presumably coreboard.

Sent you something else to enjoy.

Sounds more like an energy regulator fault than the element. Generic regulators are still available, although they will not be the same as the ones fitted.

Model number (which ain’t going to help us……… 😀 ) is possibly on a pop-up tag – have a feel across the back at the top.

    Finally – PICCIES!!.

Plug out, back off, resistance check with your test meter should show 20-25 ohms through the heater when split from the circuit.

Front comes off – two screws at the top behind the control panel can be a little awkward. Otherwise dead easy.

    Re: hotpoint bwd129 help

Comms error – top board is not talking to the computer. Beyond checking for broken wiring and that a good “nip” of the connectors doesn’t resolve things, you’ve probably got a computer problem. They are notoriously unreliable.

You have a 5 year parts warranty on the machine; your cheapest option is probably to pay The Indesit Company their £99.85 and get all the parts for free. Be advised that the call centre operatives will try and flog you an extended warranty when you make the call.
