Re: Hoover HD 97 E Error Message

It’s a fault in the heater circuit. Heater blown, NTC temperaure sensor faulty, bad connections or a fault on the PCB can all cause this code to appear.

Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

If you’re sure that the socket and fuse are OK, you need to look at the motor controller board. It has a surface mount fuse, which will kill the machine dead if it blows.

Re: Indesit WIDL126 S Just keeps filling with water!! Oh Go

There is a classic fault on these machines. Switch it it on – fine. Select a programme – fine. Press “start” and it will instatntly start filling and it won’t stop. This is a triac failure on the computer board.

Helo and Steve have both given you good advice, this is just the nasty bit (it’s what moderators do 😕 ) on the end.

PCB failure is expensive and sees the end of many budget appliances.

It’s a capacitor start/run motor on this machine. If it runs when you push it off, it almost certainly needs a new capacitor. This is not an available spare on the parts listing – you can have a new motor and capacitor for £161, or you can pull the plug, put the machine on its back, remove the base panel and find the capacitor and tell us the “uf” rating. The Shop@ facility on the task bar on the left will have a matching one.

Pump blockage will cause the base to over fill, it overflows into the fan chamber – fan throws water into the heater, bang.

Yup, front opens like a cupboard door so as you can get at it. Power off, pull out the air bell and clean it. Heater may well have failed though – then you have to deal with Miele. BBiigg bill……

Bet this won’t appear on their social network website!

They just allow any water lying in the door seal to drain down into the drum.

It’s very unlikely that any of us know, because Miele won’t tell us anything. You could try ringing them, but they won’t tell you anything either. They might be quite polite about it though, because they want you to book their engineer – it’s more than we get in the trade.

Ah well, buy something expensive and you have to pay for the service.

Of course it isn’t. SMEG at least make a decent effort at making a quality product. MFI (Diplomat) used to buy them with their badge on.

Yours, unfortunately, is Chinese and therefore should be treated with the respect due an unexploded bomb at all times. Replace at the very earliest opportunity.

Chinese rubbish. If you’ve got a warranty, use it – otherwise throw it away and buy something with at least a brand name you recognise on it.

If the element glows, it thinks it’s full of water. So, water across the base or not? Failing that, it can fill but not circulate.

    Please advise.

The back of the machine does not come off per se- there is an access panel as described above; or you remove the r/h side panel (lid off first) and get it that way.

Um……. No. Invite your customers to join the 21st Century. Unless the boiler is directly over the washing machine, it will finish filling before the water even comes down the hot pipes. Educate them.
