Be very careful if you go the “cheap” route – you absolutely will get what you are prepared to pay for. Buy cheap, buy twice was one of my Gran’s little mottos (She had lots….). A read through the articles in THIS SECTION and THE GREAT WASHING MACHINE SWINDLE is both revealing, informative and rather scary.

It’s possible that the solenoid for the softener unit has jammed open and is simply allowing the solution to run through into the machine. Side panels off to observe.

SGI5305GB?
Most likely the dispenser lid has warped with heat. Replacement cover is 166621 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10/Maytag – is it the same machine?
There’s no secret about it – both machines are built by ASKO to the specification required by both brand names – they are very different.

If the belt has run-off, the front bearing has collapsed causing the pulley to no longer run parallel with the motor pulley.
That being the case, you will need the bearing set and a drum support and a huge amount of patience. And a big hammer and a steel bar. You’ll probably need a set of screws for the drum support as well – they are just about impossible to remove.
The belt will be fine…….
As a repairer, I’d be billing you for at least 2 hours work, plus the parts, so £160-£180 would be a likely bill up here in Yorkshire. If you’re daahn sarf, it’ll probably be more.

Solenoid on the dispenser is the usual culprit, replacement dispenser required. P/no 92746379 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.
A resistance test through the solenoid coil will confirm. Power off first.

Leaning the machine to a good angle to the right gives the best access.
