I think you’re in trouble. The clunk from the valve at switch on suggests that there is some activity from the pcb, as it performs a diagnostic routine on power up. If it won’t do anything else, it does imply that the pcb has had it.

Tray under the machine has water in it and the flood protection system is operating. Power off, tip the machine over to one side to drain the water, then find the leak.

Machine fills from a metering tank on the rear of the cavity. Remove left hand side panel to see what is going on. The water level in the tank is reflected in the water level in the rear-most column of the water matrix. If it’s empty, the tank is not filling, which would point to a water valve problem. If the tank is full, but it’s not draining down into the machine, the relese solenoid at the bottom of the matrix may have failed. If the water level drops slightly then slows, the softener unit may have gummed up. This is the “sandbox” in the matrix.

Lots of places these little blighters can leak from. Worth getting the base panel off and setting it up on a couple of blocks and seeing where the water is coming from.

Power off for anything other than observation.

There is no user access to the pump through the sump of the machine. Remove outer door panel and kick panel to reveal the drain pump in the front left corner. It’s a twist fit – release the locking catch and turn the pump body to remove. It’s really, really awkward… You can remove the undertray for better access.

    Power off first,

Might be an idea to keep an eye on THIS THREAD. Looks like Chezza’s on the warpath.

Just keep it simple. With the machine empty and the filter removed, select drain and see if the damned pump actually runs by looking into the pump chamber.

    Simples.

Temperature sensor problem. NTC sensor may have failed – check for a reading in kOhms, falling with heat. Broken wiring is possible, failing that, computer bord.

Broken wiring in hinge pivot, failed inlet valve or solidified softener unit are the most likely problems.

Power off if you’re going in.
