Re: GE Dishwasher BF41 Not Heating Water Or Moving On

Rubbish – the safety will trip due to underfilling. Remove and clean out the three hoses running across the bottom of the machine to solve the problem.

    Power off first.

You have accessed the drain pump. Under no circumstance invert the machine.

Define “not fully draining” – there will always be 1/2″ of water left in the bottom of the sump.

As usual, I have managed to post the un-amended minutes – this is now corrected. I would draw your attention to point 2/ e) which was omitted and the addition of the chairman@ email addy.

I have corrected all names seeing as you’re all in a sarky mood…..

Approx 23 ohms per heater when split from the circuit – power off first.

Last time, it was flooded in the tray underneath – tipping it re-set the float switch and allowed it to work. You really need to get the covers off and find the leak.

Front panel off – 2 screws at the bottom, one in the soap drawer opening. Slip band from door seal and release it, whole thing will come away.

Machine should stop filling when the pressure switch is activated. The secondary hose to the valve operates a pneumatic shut-off.

Possible problems are water in the pressure hose/switch, or the air collecting chamber is full of crud.

Cold water valve should read approx 64ohms if you measure the resitance with a test meter.

Just lever the motor towards you and it’ll pop off. Usually quite abruptly, so mind your toes….

It’ll have to come out – r/h side panel and rear lower cover off for access, then a couple of spring rings.
