Re: AEG Lavamat Turbo 16830 Not Drying

There is a temperature sensor in the hose connecting the dryer condensor and the tub. Broken wiring to that sensor will cause exactly the symptoms you describe.

You will need to split the outer casing for access – power off first.

Re: AEG l16830 – dryer issue

There is a re-settable cut-out on the side of the heater housing with a red button sticking out. If it’s tripped, you’ll hear a “snick” as it re-sets.

Bear in mind that it only trips if there is a fairly extreme overheat, so I’d be looking at the big condenser housing in the corner. They can fill up with fluff and strangle the airflow.

Power off for anything other than observation.

All you have to do to get the Indesit part numbers is put “C” in front of the Equator numbers. 😀

Part listings, part numbers and spares available HERE.

Water level control is by a diaphragm pressure switch. Remove lid and look for a small unit with a skinny hose running down from it. Switch should “click” when gently pressurised. Air hose may be detached or holed. Air bell at the bottom may be choked with goo – strip and clean job.

    Stay safe – power off.

NTC thermistor – negative thermal co-efficient. The hotter it gets, the lower the resistance. PCB will have a comparative resistor array to represent the different operating temperatures of the machine. The processor matches the values to decide what temperature it’s at. The catch is that the operating range may not include extreme low temperature = fault.

Knocking noises are usually cock-eyed rotors – check that the tip jets are clear. The other cause of noises is the circulation motor – article HERE will explain.

Most of these pcbs are in the bottom right rear corner – a few later ones had them at the top rear right.

Far more likely to be the main pcb – HERE. These blow from time to time and there is usually visible damage.

Consider though – why? Short circuit components, notably door lock, heater and motor will blow the board.

Check everything carefully before spending the dosh……

During the heat sequence, the falling water from the spray arms is supposed to cool the element whilst heating the water. It should never be seen glowing red hot.

I can only think that the machine is underfilling (The opposite of the usual problem with these :rolls: ), which is an awkward technical issue to try and resolve – pro help would be your best option.

I have seen this happen with very large objects in the bottom basket – baking trays for instance.
