ParticipantRe: Siemens WM61200GB/01 Error Codes
Thanks again Greg, I am now even more confused, having seen the circuit diagram. It looks as though the interlock switches the neutral rather than live. If that were the case it should have gone bang when I attempted to bypass the interlock. Assuming the middle tag was switched live I linked it to the permenant live tag. I did a wash this morning with it like that and it worked fine 😕 I will check again with the test screwdriver to see if the middle tag is live when the interlock is locked.

ParticipantRe: Siemens WM61200GB/01 Error Codes
Thanks gegsy, I ended up being given the machine, as the customer preferred to buy new rather than wait for parts :rolls: I think it probably just needs a new door button cable as I can’t get it to work so that it will open the door AND allow the interlock to lock, I can only get one or other to work. I needed to get it working for my own use so I set it up so the door could be opened and bypassed the interlock.
The interlock has 3 wires, all purple and all the same thicknes. The interlock tags are numbered 2 to 4, not marked with letters. I therefore used a test screwdriver to find live and a multimeter to then find neutral. I was surprised to find the voltage on the interlock was only 187 volts. The machine seems to work OK but is this correct?Phidom
ParticipantRe: Unbeatable rates, no call out charge!
Most of my competitors advertise that there is no callout charge but they still somehow manage to charge £40+ to tell the customer that their appliance is beyond repair 👿

ParticipantRe: Beko WMA765W
Module problems are quite common on Bekos, have you checked for burnt edge contacts etc?

ParticipantRe: De Dietrich Cooker Hood
Thanks again Martin, The machine has 2 rectangular cartridge filters both of which have disintegrated on one side so the charcoal is spilling out. Perhaps I could cut squares of the fabric and insert them into the cartridges? I will order the fabric type kit and a bottle of loose charcoal and see what can be done

I don’t know, I didn’t know such a kit existed. I don’t do many hoods 😕

ParticipantRe: De Dietrich Cooker Hood
I’m struggling on this one. I think the model number must be right, I got the number off the appliance but I phoned the customer who quoted the same number from the instruction book. I phoned the Connect enquiry number but they could not find this model listed, they advised me to put in a PNE request online. I did this but no reply. I found the De Dietrich UK website and got a phone number for spares (0121 766 5414) but again they could not recognise the model number. :bang:

ParticipantRe: Connect
In a lot of cases the genuine parts seem to be cheaper than the pattern ones especially if you only want one.

ParticipantRe: DO YOU TELL THEM
I think I might start recommending LG if anyone asks. I went to one yesterday. Customer has it on extended warranty with G&D but when she rang them was told they don’t have any engineers in her area. She was to get someone locally and send G&D the bill. 😀

ParticipantRe: Cooker Hood Filters
Thanks. Not sure if this one can be vented as it appears to have no provision for a hose connection or any form of bypass mechanism.

A guy sticks his head into a barber shop and asked, “How long before I can get a haircut?”
The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said, “About 2 hours”. The guy left.A few days later the same guy stuck his head in the door and asked, “How long before I can get a haircut?”
The barber looked around at the shop and said, “About 3 hours.”
The guy left.A week later the same guy stuck his head in the shop and asked, “How long before I can get a haircut?”
The barber looked around the shop and said, “About an hour and half.” The guy left. The barber turned to a friend and said, “Hey Bill, do me a
favour. Follow that guy and see where he goes. He keeps asking how long he has to wait for a haircut, but then he doesn’t ever come back.A little while later, Bill returned to the shop, laughing hysterically.
The barber asked, “So where does that guy go when he leaves?”
Bill looked up, tears in his eyes and said, “Your house.”Phidom

Thanks Seamy. I will enquire the cost of calibration, it was last done in 1999.
