    Out of interest Mick,

Did you resolve this problem or not?

    Cheers

    Hi Geoff1,

Did you get any result with this machine? I am having a similar problem with a ZWF1432W. Everything else checks ok so I am suspecting it is the PCB.

    Cheers

    Hi Mvitorio,

Did you have any success with this problem? I have a customer with the same model of machine which is showing similar faults except when it freezes up it is just the start/pause light that is flashing. The other lights that were showing as part of the programme remain constant. No error codes are shown and diagnostics don’t reveal anything. Insulation is testing fine. I suspect the PCB is faulty.

    Cheers

    Thanks for that Richard,

I have heard they are excellent. Do you have their contact details? To be fair QER only take a week not because of themselves as their service is very good but because of the postal service around here in the mountains of Wales. First class takes two days and even the next day delivery with DHL from Connect takes two days!! :rolls:
There is no weekend delivery for DHL either which is not helpful so you work around it.

Thanks for the information to Lawrence.

It’s nice to know what is happening. I’ve booked it in my diary.

    Hi Salva,

That’s a pity for you! I know other guys around the country have difficulties sometimes. To be fair the majority of my customers will pay immediately the job is completed. As long as customers are honest and up front I don’t mind. I have even had some young couples who I let spread the payments over a few months because they agreed it with me in advance. It’s when they knowingly try it on that’s annoying 😡

I believe the EMW guys are very good although have never used them. Do you have their number?
QER are accessed via their website:

    http://www.qer.biz/servReps.htm

They don’t do phone calls unless they ring you about your board. It’s a pretty good service though. They have been able to sort out about 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of boards I have sent to them and the turn over is usually within the week including posting. HTH 🙂

    Cheers

Re: SMEG DWI409C Dishwasher start fault

    Hi Salva,

I tried the dispenser and that was ok. Reset didn’t make any difference either. I’ve decided it is the PCB especially as there is no fault code given although to be fair I have not taken the matter further as I had a problem with this customer paying promptly in the past so I laid out the options before proceeding. I have had success with QER previously on a similar model but decided not to go any further because of my previous experience with this customer and payments. As I suspected the customer decided not to go ahead with any repairs and I am (still) currently waiting to be paid for the work done so far. It took three months last year and a number of reminders before I got paid. They have now had their first reminder.
I have decided with this customer now that I will not do any further work should they ring until they have settled their bill and any future work will have to be payment up front and pay as you go.
There’s a part of me that would like to continue and try and get to the bottom of the fault and I probably would have with one of my more honest and loyal customers but I have to be realistic.
Hope you have success with your problem machine.

    Cheers
    Chris

    Thanks for that Martin.

That price makes more sense. I wouldn’t have found it as it is described as ‘Drum and Wiring’! 😕

Is there any further news/details on this as I have never been before and would like to go. I don’t need to book a room. Can I just turn up or do I need to tell someone? What time does it start?

    Cheers

Just found this thread. What a brilliant idea with the wet vacuum cleaner. Don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that before. Thanks

I’m amazed! I didn’t know all these old defunct machines I have could be worth anything. How naive am I out in the sticks 😯
Where do you get one of these licences from?

From my experience I agree with Chris….get that refund in writing. Who is your insurance company?
