ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM51A spin speed
💡 after the first spin, why not give the washing a shake and re-spin it. Worked for me with my 800rpm machine if i wanted to bother to do it , on blankets, jeans and the like 😀
I dont know of course if re-spinning at the same spin actually gets more water out, it didnt seem to if i never re-positioned the washing 😉
Or was it all in my :conf: mind 😆
Seems a lot of work for little gain TBH. And IMO if you cant find much info by Googling etc then that is usually for a very good reason 😉

In case of warranty claim, contact either ISE at service@iseappliances.co.uk or contact the local agent directly.
It reads as though email is preferred over telephone.
MO6 appears to have chosen one of the recommended options so has done the right thing.
Unfortunately mumof6 was emailing David Quinn and not service@iseappliances.co.uk, so as ken said, D Q had been on holiday so these emails were not seen by any other ise personnel 🙁
Email may be preferred, but if such emails are producing no response then its on the ‘blower’ i would be going!
Anyhow, IMO ken has given some very good options so lets all hope this unfortunate and ‘not the norm’ issue can get sorted asap 😀
Just imagine any other company appearing on a forum and ‘airing its dirty laundry in public’ (sorry couldnt resist :rolls: )

Hi mumof6,
I hope ‘clout’ doesnt come into it . Mind you……
I do understand where you are coming from and agree mainly, but if i was in the situation you are in then i would be asking the engineer why it is he hasnt arranged the fitting of your part by now, it was sent at the beginning of last week, so IMO he should have contacted you immediately it arrived. ISE hve spoken to him and he has informed them that he will contact you, unfortunately he seems very unprofessional and it seems you will have to make another call. Hopefully your last!
I am honestly not being in the least bit sarcastic, i am just saying what i would do in your position, but obviously it is your call (excuse the pun 😆 )
all the best

Hi martin :D,
Bet you can guess in which direction my ‘size 5’ would be heading 😆 😉
Hi mumof6,
Talking from the view of another ‘lady ’ i think you really should give the your engineer a call, i can understand why you feel that he should contact you but you must need that machine running again asap and he does seem to be ‘dragging his heels’ to put it mildly 👿
best wishes

Hi mumof6,
I think if this was happening to me i would go round to my local agent and give him a size 5 :hmm: , probably not much of an impact 😆 .
Seriously though, have you phoned your local engineer?

Exactly what i was thinking Chezza! Very dependable agent :rolls: . Glad he doesnt cover my area!!
IMO ise have done what they could when they actually heard of the OP problem. The fact that there was a unpredictable demand for the part, then the first batch ordered were faulty (water damaged) was no fault of ise. Then ise promptly ordered more, sent them to the agent asap, however, thus far, said agent has failed to contact mumof6 to get the machine fixed, this i do find completely unsatisfactory 👿
I would just like to tell everyone about a little experiment i did a couple of days ago, while waiting for my friend to come out of the hairdressers :rolls: . I went into several stores that sell washers and asked if their guarantees/warranties (including the ones you pay extra for to extend) would give me a ‘loaner’ if i was without a machine while waiting for repair, however long. All said no, if the parts were available and the machine was economical to repair, “you would just have to wait, madam” was the actual answer. (you know when you are getting old, when you start getting called madam 🙁 )
Mumof6’s problems were obviously caused by a series of unfortunate events that were beyond anyones complete control, however I feel the local agent should bare the ‘brunt’ of responsibility by not ordering the part required when it should have been, thus informing ise of the fault with the machine much more quickly. Then the communication problems, IMO a telephone call to a company is far better than sending emails to one particular person, at least you know that they know by speaking to them. Then comes into play the batch of faulty parts, having to get a new batch sent over and now back to the mumof6’s local agent :rolls:. This is all IMVHO from re-reading the entire thread.
I really do feel for mumof6 being in this position, as i am addicted to washing and would hate to find myself in the same predicament. However i would not be laying the blame entirely at ise’s door but at all attributing factors.
Best wishes, mumof6, i hope your local agent gets to you asap and gets your machine washing again 😀
kind regards to all

PS – And not forgetting another attributing factor, the part played by the insurance 👿 . This sort of situation is exactly why, as i have mentioned on previous threads, i am very pleased that ISE now back their own guarantees!!
