Re: How do YOU pronounce it?

Beko pronounced Beekoh up here in yorkshire, believe the company that owns them is called Arcelik – could have been interesting pronunciations if they had used that name.As for Bush washers I wonder if the lady in question was too embarassed to ask you to look at her Bush :rolls:

    Re: Hotpoint Aqualtis

Eventually getting an error code on this machine.Start button flashing and the first row of lights have nos.2,4and 5 lit up ,I presume this is F10 fault -pressure switch fault.Pressure switch is a crappy blue thing with a small connector block and 5 connections(most hpts have 4).EMW have repaired and tested the pcb(Mk10 -the original fault was that the display was frozen on and wouldnt reset even when you unplugged the machine and plugged it in again)Now it fills and the error code flashes up but it will do the spin cycle ok except the pump doesnt kick in.(Pump and pump circuit ok).Why 5 connections on the p/switch, Im presuming that the pump not working is something to do with the p/switch(got one on order),circuit diag would be appreciated.

AQ9L 291(UK)V. Its amazing how many different models this shower can produce in a short time and no doubt theres plenty of variation within each model number.

Put it in the vac forum because I thought thats where the vac problems would be answered.Sorted problem out in the end, the two white plastic rings on either side of the motor casing lock it together -they turn in one direction only( with care).A right pain of a job just to replace the cable.

    Re: Scariest path

There is a wire to clip to above the dangerous bits but the path looks in a bad condition.Lots of these sort of things in the Dolomites in northern Italy – the paths there were constructed to supply gun emplacements during the first world war when the Italians were fighting the Austrians. Now they provide fun for ‘madheads’ like me and are known as ‘via ferrata’.There is even one in the Lake District now on the Honister Pass although its a bit controversial amongst us outdoor folks.

Re: Whirlpool spares – what a joke?

Customer wanted a quote for a programmer for a AWM 1403.Retail £186.49 plus Vat – ridiculous.I now actively discourage people from buying anything Whirlpool . I believe theyre stuggling a bit – they say that the market decides – serves the b*ggers right.Theyre just callout machines with the occasional blocked pump.

Had a look in Asda today the Russell Hobbs tumble drier at £137 looks like a White Knight. Ironically on the other side of the aisle they had White Knights at £120.

Is Ed4 just the error code for faulty heaters or does it cover other things as well?

Answering my own question – took a punt on a new control board which did the trick.

    Re: AEG L84950

Found out how to reset this.
    1.Set program switch to off.
2.Press two switches on right in(Start /pause and the one next to it)
3.Set program switch to first program while still holding the two switches in – the display should sing into life.
4.Release the two switches after 5 seconds.
5.Turn the Program knob clockwise through each setting back to off.

It worked for me, machine working perfectly and its all mine, I can see 200 smackers coming my way – this ones nearly £600 at John Lewis and its just out of guarantee and its immaculate. It makes you wonder how many machines are scrapped with faults like this.
