clive.. yes..bra wire round the shaft.. i’ve done one..just the one! frustratingly awkward as i could see it but because it was firmly twisted around the shaft it was a stripdown job.

nina, the bra wire must have gone through a hole…where are the holes in the drum…at the back perhaps..if so look there, you may be very lucky and see the tip of the wire and if you are very very lucky you might be able to pull it out. however if its wrapped itself around the drum shaft it will be very difficult to get it free. best of luck :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Fan oven doesn’t heat, but element is OK
did you test the original element??? if not test it…this will obviously take the element as the problem out of the picture if it tests ok. 😉 then you can look for the real fault.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWZ412 no spin
POWER OFF… check wiring to timer, if ok will the beast spin if you select spin only or rinse spin only. if it does drain the spin on these progs it may be the timer as it only fails on prog B. ps the timer it tricky to get off if you need to check wiring or look for burt tracks..even then there may be no evidence as a component in/on the timer may have failed…i would not recommend that you either order a timer as a chance nor try and change it yourself….finally run w/m without a load in on spin to see if it does spin if it does , then with load in if it doesn’t could be worn brushes.

ParticipantRe: indesit timer spins around
i’ve had this…board could need re setting…1) power on, 2) select a stop position on program selector..3) close door..4) on /off button ON. light should flash (as indicating end of program). on/off button OFF. wait till door can be opened. open door. select wash or rinse program, close door, on/off button ON. let the machine run through till end of program. if selector still rotates try the above again…the time lapes between door open and selecting program can be critical..the longer you leave it the bette, but need not be more than say 3mins.

put drain hose into bucket or bowl..select drain/spin..water should whoosh out, listen to see if drain pump is working or just humming either there is a blockage on the way to the drain pump or the pump is jammed or faulty.

you can see the module from the back when the back panel is off. from the back the module is on the left about 9″ from the floor. it’s trickey to get to it ftom the back so i find it’s easier to take the front panel off.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi TC7102W condenser dryer
it’s well worth getting a proffesional opinion..zanussi are ok…and for £40-£60 it’s worth the risk to know exactly what’s wrong, as long as the c/d is not noisy and gives good results..find an engineer to give you a fix cost.

ParticipantRe: Washer broke!! 3years old, used everyday shall I buy new
recommendation….as above buy the most expensive you can afford.. go for a well known make in the UPPER price range! if with empire you pay installments a £1.00 or two more will get you a reliable long lasting appliance…BUY THE BEST. there is lots off info you can easily access on w/ds.

brushes are ok at that length…not great but ok…sounds like a module fault.
