ParticipantRe: Loop / Socket Testing.
I had a council block of flats in Canning Town, east London rewired in the 80s as not one socket in the block was earthed. Got a shock off the sink and that lead to me testing all sockets in the flat then the neighbours.
Servis never gave testing equipment in those days and I had my own socket tester.

ParticipantRe: Connect (DPD) 7am wake up texts
Yes Dave,
When the address comes up to deliver to, above the postcode I put “IF OUT LEAVE AT FRONT DOOR” and when first delivered I pointed out to the driver so he knew in future.
With Qualtex I phoned them and they insert it in the delivery address.
It works well for me.

I get texts and emails from both Connect and Qualtex, brilliant system and I don’t turn work mobile on until 8am. I can plan the day and I also get both companies to direct courier that parcels to be left at front door if I’m out. A bonus for living in a village where a late library book is a major news story.

ParticipantRe: Creda TCR2 Dryer no heat
Had a wiring diagram and it was a burnt out float switch. Would not have thought of this causing no heat.
Thanks Jimrobbra

ParticipantRe: Best of the budgets.
While we are on this subject I have a customer who is strapped for cash and although I would normally supply Amica, Swift have none. I was thinking of a White Knight. Does anyone have any experience of these, who makes them,(Chinese perhaps or Vestel) and reliability? I know they aren’t going to be the greatest but in short, are they reasonable?

Ps. Some time ago did sell some Daewoo but all bar one went wrong and getting paid by Daewoo was not the easiest so I won’t sell them.robbra

Thanks Martin.
Didn’t know there was a new version and I was using the old book one. It’s now one phone and tablet and will be very useful.
Thanks also to Ukw.

Hi Martin,
Since this thread my laptop has crashed and I have had to buy a new one so the previous info has been lost so can you resend the info please? More problems on this machine, intermittantly tripping but all seems ok when tested.
Thanks in advance.

ParticipantRe: Daewoo
If you sell them you do the repairs but as I found out, not a good deal.
I sold a few and all but one has had a repair in the first 4 months and one exchange. Getting paid is subject to delay.
Needless to say I no longer sell them and any repairs go to Daewoo from now on.robbra
ParticipantRe: Candy f/freezer CPCA240FFK
Thanks for the info Bob, I did the test and it came out with no fault lights flashing but it didn’t revert back to working after the test as the paper says and had to be switched on and off. I suspect the pcb, what do you think?
