    Re: Tapatalk search query

Just had a look an the tapatalk help forum. someone else has similar issues with different forums. He can access the search feature on one forum but not on another, so the software on the phone must be ok.
The reply on the help forum was:-
That means the search function was disabled via the plugin.
How do I go about turning it on??
Only the forum owner can turn it on.
Could that be the problem K?

    Re: Componant ID……

Just a reminder. Before measuring values of a component (eg resistor), you need to unsolder one leg out of the pcb before measuring. This is because your meter can be reading through other components on the board, giving a false reading.

Mmm. Will have a look at those. Reasonable price too. I was always suspicious that they would be too big to get between the cabinet and the door seal. Interesting to know someone has actually used them for the job. 😀

    Re: Yell.Com

The only thing I can say is that I am getting a lot of enquiries from yell.com of late. A lot was from my free listing, I have taken a heavyweight add out in one particular region to try it out. It is early days, and I dont think you can get data from the site about your advertising until a month has passed by.
If you put a search in your area via google yell is always high up the page. People click on it because it is a name they know.
I think I am paying about £140 odd pound over the year for a heavy weight add in a region close to me. The price depends on the region.

    Re: Washing machine fires

Yes. Some years ago for me. The old 95 series Hotpoint with the black door lock. Hoover changed the switching of their door micro-switches from live to neutral, in my opinion, to take away the potential difference between switch and cabinet.
I think the big problem is the amount of plastics involved. The cables / harnesses can start smouldering with water ingress onto switches or door locks, but because there isn’t any earth leakage it doesn’t create an out of balance current situation to trip the RCD.
Neither do you get much of an overcurrent situation to trip the MCB or fuse in plug. 13 Amps is a lot of current.
This is why I am also very reluctant to repair breaks in dishwasher door wiring anywhere near pivot points or where the harness is age hardening.
A lot of fire brigades keep records of appliances that are repeat offenders

Watch out for low insulation on the heaters on the Hoovers. I think it usually throws the error for not draining, but that isn’t to say it wont throw others.

I find it great on the BlackBerry too. I didn’t know it existed until recently.
