The spacer washer is a great hotpoint idea to try and prevent the drum from touching the back panel.
The nine groove belt should last an extra month.

Check the motor plug & loom, I have found the
conductor brocken in the insulation a few times.
You can still get a couple of strands just about
    making a circuit

    1. Customer overloading the drum gives
reduced air flow blowing cut out

    2. Remove the condenser and check the cooling fan looks clean, dog hair blockage ?

    3. Replace front drum stat, if this fails to cycle
the heater cycles on heater stat

Check the motor loom & plug, the conductor
breaks inside the insulation, also if the machine
is in a garage it could be a damp module just
remove the seriel port cover and give it a blast
    with a hairdryer roy.

The pipework may have been run too close to the drain hole causing it to freeze up.
Have seen the problem a couple of times ,but
after it`s been foamed in i don`t know how you can cure it, Roy

I had a WF250 the other day that stuck on the program with the prewash light flashing, water had
run into the machine off the work top and shorted the connector on the conditioner valve, and blown the high quality control board.
The prewash light flashes for fill faults.

Also to cancel tEST mode, press the start+on button
with the door open then select off test demo.
