Yes the sign without the ring on the outside is just the fan.

The only reason I would think they have this setting is so you can cool it down quicker after use and to help the fan oven element cool down to extend its life.

No they are clipped on and when the screws are removed it has to be levered off carefully with a screwdriver.

You will still not be able to access the pipe as the rear panel is foamed in and no access to pipe.

On most makes of American style fridge freezer it is a door replacement as the pipe is foamed in.

    Hi Lawrence

I e-mailed them a few weeks back but did not get a reply.

Could you get them to send me confirmation as well.

I asked them if I could have the same room as last time.

    Cheers

    Re: February 2016 Conference

I did not get a confirmation in September or for Feb 2016.

The room was reserved for me when I attended the September meeting so it should be ok.

    Great venue and good food.

    See you there

The fault you had can happen on any make of fridge / freezer.

Gorenje fridge freezers are good and reliable.

It is all down to preference on what suits your needs as to the make you buy.

    Re: Beko CDA539FW-2

It sounds like a blockage in the refrigeration system or low on gas or the compressor is not pumping correctly.

The insulation will be breaking down due to the fault.

I would say it is beyond economical repair and it is better to put the money towards a new one than attempt to have it repaired.

Re: Hotpoint American Style fridge freezer NO POWER help!

Most newer Hotpoint fridge freezers the PCB’S come unprogramed and have to be programmed so it would not be a case of a strait replacement.

It looks like you will need an engineer out to check it.

Re: Siemens American fridge freezer problem

If the system was blocked then there was no point fitting a compressor.
The compressor may have been ok but if it was not and it needed a new compressor then the blockage should have been cleared before fitting a new one.
The cost should have been no where near £500 and you should ask them to refund a large percentage of the call as the appliance was not repaired and the compressor should not have been fitted if the blockage was not cleared.
Most of the newer Bosch Siemans American Type fridge freezers are now made by Dawoo.
So you could buy a Dawoo for a lot less than £1500.
Your model does not look like it is made by Dawoo but all systems on domestic fridge freezers are sealed systems.
Yours would have been sealed until it was repaired as it would not have worked for five and a half years

We would need the model number to be able to offer advice but you may have blown the main PCB.

The drain is blocking with ice you will have to defrost it again.

Then check at the back outside above the compressor for a rubber non return valve as it may be sticking.

You can trim it back with scissors to stop it sticking or remove it and fit a new one.

It is normally better just to trim it back.

Press the wet wall at the back of the fridge to see if there is any movement .

If the wet wall at the back has come away from the evaporator then it will not operate the thermostat correctly.

Or the compressor is not pumping correctly or low on refrigerant.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

There will be a lot of agents trying to cream of the money first before passing the work to engineers.

The rate would have to be good to take on the responsibility as last person working on the appliance can be held responsible if any further problems.

Also the rate would have to take into account an hour to repair plus travel time and mileage to get to the job.

I wonder if they will approach The WTA Direct.
