    Re: BEKO fridge freezer problem

You have to cut in to the foam insulation to get at the sensor.

The insulation can never be repaired successfully and leads to other problems.

Other manufacturers have tried mods during Warenty cutting in to the insulation to replace sensors without success as it has caused other problems.

This will be the fridge evaorrator sensor faulty and it is foamed in so it is not repairable.

Re: Any one know who this is

Just thought I would see if anyone knew who they are, at least now every one knows if they are contacted by them.

I never take work from anyone without carrying out research first or payment on the visit.

There are too many of these company’s out there now waiting to take advantage of the independent engineers.

Another good reason to be a WTA member.

I only use free advertising and search for repairs on line a couple of times a week to keep a check on my position on the web search.

If I drop down the list I then make a few changes to get me back up the list.

I found this company lower down on the search but with so many sites I am sure they will soon move up the list.

I think most people online now look for a contact address now or pay with a credit card so they can get there money back if things go wrong.

They will probably make a lot of money in the short term and disappear when the credit card company’s start chasing them.

Yes just one of there website listings all have no contact address not much good to customers if they get a problem.

Lets hope customers have enough sense not to use sites with no contact address.

    Re: Diplomat fridge fault

It is not a DIY job as you have to take off the control unit.

You have to turn off the mains supply to the fridge.

Then take the control panel off if I remember you have to take the light switch off by squeezing it top and bottom then pull it off with the spring then you can get to the screw that holds the control on.

You then have to slide the control forward to remove it.

It is not easy unless you are used to working on domestic appliances.

    Re: Diplomat fridge fault

On this model when you get this fault it is not repairable.

It is a sensor fault for the alarm and the sensor is foamed in and not replaceable.

The fridge will work ok but the alarm will sound and red light will flash.

The only thing you can do is cut the alarm buzzer on the PCB.

Re: american f/f showing -24 but food not frozen

The temperature sensor is on the evaporator so this will be -24 but the freezer needs the cold air recirculating to freeze the items in the freezer.

This make of American fridge freezer rarely has problems except for the fan motor.

Sometimes you can get a PCB fail but then nothing works.

Re: american f/f showing -24 but food not frozen

If you do not have an Icemaker on your model it is not that difficult.

The fan motors are not expensive for the Beko.

Most appliance repairers should be able to replace it for you if you feel it is too difficult.

If you have an Icemaker then it is not so easy as you have to remove the Icemaker first.

A good refrigeration engineer will find this easy to do.

Re: american f/f showing -24 but food not frozen

The fault will be the fan in the freezer.

You will need to fit a new fan motor.

The fan is at the top behind the panel inside the freezer.

He may be a liar not a lawyer as a lawyer is professionally trained and unlikely to have this kind of attitude.

I would tell him your offer is withdrawn and he should look for another repairer.

If if persist on shouting abuse at you put the phone down on him or tell him he will here from your lawyer and you will pursue him for your cost.

    Then just forget about him.
