When I got the bloke on the phone as his wife was home he just said ” yea I did it to stop it moving” I left him with the choice of getting it out him self or getting it out him self lol.

He was not happy and got stroppy on the phone, I went back a week later when he got it out and it was a hell of a mess. He had to cut the back out of the unit next to it. Still seemed to imply its our fault due to it failing.

I bet he was foaming at the mouth when you told him 😀

If the appliance is fitted incorrectly and there is a chance you may damage the kitchen or it is difficult to remove.

I advise the customer to remove the appliance and rearrange the visit for me to repair.

I then charge a half price visit and advise it will be deducted from the bill on the next visit.

This way the customer is more likely to get you back to repair the appliance, if not at least you get a half price call and it does not cost you money.

The repair kit is just a cheap way for Samsung to try and get out of replacing the appliance with a manufacturing fault.

I think the RSH 1 are the best appliance for us as repairers as they give us plenty of work.

The repair kit is good if fitted before it burns the liner but after it burns I would not like to put my name to this type of repair.

Re: MFI APM 6855 Integrated Fridge Freezer – approx 7 years

    Hi from Bob
If the display had H displayed the ambient sensor should be OK as the H stands for hot out of temperature display range.

After you have put the new sensors on when you turn it back on you will get the alarm sounding and it will display 2 dashes or H until it returns to normal temperature or below -14 c

You can turn the alarm off as it will reset when it is below -14c

Re: MFI APM 6855 Integrated Fridge Freezer – approx 7 years

The freezer ambient temperature probe is attached to the freezer evaporator but it is rare for it to go wrong.

The no frost evaporator probe is normally the problem this is also attached to the evaporator.

The probes are permanently live even if you turn off at the control panel, so the appliance has to be unplugged from the mains supply before replacing them.

The no frost probe is top left on the evaporator.

The ambient probe is front left or right front depending on the version of the model.

    Re: Samsung F/F Booster Pump

Did you use the full length of plastic tubing to install the water supply as this can slow the dispense speed if you have poor water pressure.

If you take the mains supply as close to the fridge as possible and keep the plastic mains feed as short as possible it should work fine on low water pressure.

Also make sure no kinks in the supply tubing under the kick plate at the front and under the door.

Keep the water supply tubing as short as possible but allow enough to move the fridge out to get to the back.

The only small pumps available that would fit are the 240v caravan type water pumps.

The manufacturers only recomend whole house booster pumps.

Re: Samsung rsa1dhmh not making cubed ice

You will need to check the lever at the bottom of the ice bucket is fitting in the square hole at the back as if you have removed the ice bucket you may not have put it back in correctly.

If it is in correctly then it will be the solinoid faulty that fits in the auger motor box at the back.

The fridge fan motor will be iced up.

Get someone to look after your food and turn it off and leave the doors open for 48 hours.

When you turn it back on it will return to normal within 2 to 4 hours.

You will then need an engineer to repair it as the problem will return within a couple of months.

    Hi Alley
I would check for corrosion on the connections to the display PCB.
If it looks ok then it is most likely the display PCB.

It is not a problem I have come across on this model but damp can cause problems on some models

Re: Here’s To The Crazy Ones

I had a customer who had a samsung American style fridge freezer for just over two years and Samsung refused to repair it as she did not have proof of purchase.

Samsung told them it was four years old by the serial number.

It was an RS21 and the heater had failed.

I fitted a new heater and it worked perfect for 4 years.

I recently had a call to it as the customer had a problem with the water not dispensing.

The water was frozen in the pre cooler in the fridge as the insulation in the back panel was u/s and I advised her it needed a new back panel.

She complained to me I had only repaired it a few years ago and as I had taken the panel off to fit a new heater it must be my fault and should repair it free of charge.

I charged her my call out fee for the inspection and advised her as she was unhappy that my first repair only lasted 4 years she should find an alternative repairer to repair it.

Her husband phoned me 2 months later and said the water had frozen again and asked for a refund of my call out fee as I had not fixed the problem.

I politely told him to find an alternative repairer as his wife was not happy with my repair 4 years ago and declined my cost to repair the fault and it was an inspection charge.

He said he had tried to but no one in the area would fix a Samsung Fridge Freezer.

I then advised him to phone Samsung and he replied I tried them but they wanted too much to repair it.

I then said to him this was not my problem and as he was unhappy with the service I give he should pay Samsung to repair it.

He replied I have looked on the net and these Samsungs are crap I am not paying that sort of money on a crap Machine if it keeps going wrong I am going to scrap it.

He then just slammed the phone Down.

    Another satisfied customer.

Re: Here’s To The Crazy Ones

I had a customer with a ceramic hob free standing cooker, trying to claim against the manufacturer for a new hob and damages as the hob cracked when she was cooking and she got splashed with boiling water.

The manufacturer sent me in to investigate the reason for it cracking.

Above the hob was fitted units and stored in the units was tined food.

The customer had opened the unit and a tin of beans had fell out onto the hob.

I advised this was not covered by the Warenty and she would have to claim from her household insurance and she said she was not insured and the appliance should be made to withstand tins falling on it.

I phoned the manufacturer from site as she refused to pay for my visit they paid me and sent her a bill for my visit.

She told them on the phone she was going to trading standards as it was not fit for purpose.

I do not no if the men in white coats have collected her yet

    😀
