I’d charge him for call out – finding the fault & estimating for repair, if he declined to go ahead with the repair fine.
All appliances will run without a mains suppressor but it will interfere with TV & Radio reception if theres none fitted.

If there is supply at valves , change electronic. If there is water coming in while suply is off you possibly need new water-proof valve.
These have 2 valves in sequence so if on fails second one should stop water, what sometimes happens is that grit gets trapped in valve & doesn’t shut off completetly.

Re: Miele Wash M/c W842 Fault Code Flashing `Rinses`

Basically its the electronic saying that its sent power to motor but did not receieve a signal back from tacho to indicate movement.

I’ve had to replace motors, motor modules, brushes & electronics with this fault

Most likely fault is that motor wasn’t able to turn drum & has possibly damaged it, take it off & look for damage to armature, or carbon brushes

I can only presume that they’ve been stored or transported incorrectly, possibly lying down?

    Are they worth repairing?
When you add up the cost of parts + labour required most of them are BER
