    Re: siemens SE25A831GB/17 no heat

al parts clean as a whistle Martin,I removed the pipe from the sump to the metering chamber/float area it was blocked solid with gunge also the float chamber was grimey i soaked that in toilet cleaner and is clean the only other area i can think of is the hoses that feed the bottom of the metering chambers there is one inlet from the main water feed and 2 others one blue hose going to the regeneration block and i cant remember where the other ribbed hose goes to i think its the back of the sump ? i took off the 2 ribbed hoses and they looked clean , but i didnt remove the blue hose its smaller diameter like a garden hose variety, could these be blocked somewhere else ?

left this m/c and it was working , customer rang a day later with same symtoms water in bottom of tub , on inspection the m/c will keep taking in water for a few minutes and then start operating the float switch on and off quickly and then stop after a few more minutes , sounds like the bosch problem with the jug impeller , but i cant find one on this model anyone know what siemens use instead of the impeller thanks

you need some electrical knowledge and be able to use a multimeter , check resistance of heater coil , also an area to check is the control module this sends the signal to the element there are other components also which cause the fault you describe namely thermistors which can be checked also for resistance ,once again if you are not farmiliar with electrical systems it would be better to call a professional the charges are reasonable and this site can provide you with a local engineer thanks

had a quick look mate didnt see much in the way of cracks or dryness ,there is a terminal in between the two main terminal connections on the heating element it looks like a micro switch you would find in the door handle do you know if that is a thermostat?

make sure the doors of the fridge and freezer are closing properly , the correct seal is important not to let cold air escape , also this is a frost free model so the the compressor should be cycling on for a peiod of time and then off , if its running continuosly there is a problem with the thermostat , and also an area to look at is the defrost system , there is avery helpful section on the site about troubleshooting frost free refrigerators , also remember to turn off all power to the machine before any work takes place

    Re: zanussi ZJ1217 bearing prob

no i meant the shaft is not an interfrence fit , it slides onto or into the bearings with ease , i put loctite on it to hold it in place , i removed the drum again today and took all apart and the outer bearing (nearest pulley) was abit notchy , i cant understand it i’m fitting bearings for a long time now and i was careful to drift them home using the outer race , i have installed a new bearing now again so ??
