Re: hotpoint FF40 lights flashing and beeping

i tried hotpoint for a partfinder disc and they couldnt get one , im not worried anyway i think the problem is oibvious enough , the water after being defrosted is not runninig down the gutter into the catch tank on top of the comp. it is staying in the plastic housing and running down the back of the freezer wall into the well under the bottom drawer . result drawer frozen in place . i have seen a few posts on other sites with roughly the same problem only on a ff200 model , the solution seems to be to get an uprated wiring harness and gutter heater for the defrost heater , problem is i cant find this anywhere anyone out there have any info on finding these parts thanks k 🙂

possibly a problem with the relay all along , i changed the start capacitor as the comp. was not kicking in , i’m not sure which of the alterations i made fixed it but its working fine !

went back to this armed with some resin and a start capacitor , fitted a new capacitor and glued the relay housing back together , i put everything back on the side of the compressor and hey presto comp. fired up and is pressurising the system all is well in the sunny s.e.

    Re: hotpoint rf 175 bp

i checked system electrics from live and neutral on the plug to the relay and the o/l protection on the compressor all seemed ok there is nothing in the freezer so i checked the compressor and it was warm not very ,but not cold either , i checked the start capacitor also but when i was prising off the terminals connected to the relay it broke the relay in half , it was a perfect break though so i think some resin will stick it back together anyways is there a thermistor or thermostat in the freezer section of these that would cause a low temp fault to the freezer coil thanks
