I always use a Stuart RG250, with no problems. A good quality pump, lasts for years, and no call backs

    Re: insulation testing

Machine unplugged. Dryer element disconnected. When I first connected my megger, 1 lead to earth and the other to one of the element terminals, my meter was bleeping (as it should if a voltage is present) and the display showed Vr.

When I reversed the meter leads, it was normal. This has happened a couple of times this year

    I was puzzled as well

    Thanks for the replies

The reason I posted the question is that I went to a Hotpoint washer dryer and the dryer element was down to earth. But when I connected my megger one way the meter bleeped, as if there was a voltage present, when connected the other way it behaved as normal.

    ditto

It happened to me in Feb this year, except the elderly gent hit my n/s side panel. 3 weeks getting fixed in the garage, with new side, new signwrighting, a crappy hire van. I was not happy.

A week after I got it back, I went to my local Ford garage for an MOT, and guess what , it failed with numerous electrical faults. It turned out that the body shop people has almost cut through 10 wires, causing alsorts of shorting. The only thing was that it took the MOT garage 2 days to find all the faults. And non of it was my fault. Old and dodery drivers should be banned.

Very interesting, So a quote between gandh of £150, and Lee of £125 and there’s a good chance of getting a job out of it. Better then BER all the time.

How many different sealed tubs are there I wonder?

You don’t have to answer, but I was interested in how much you charge your customer for the whole job? When they could have Hotpoint do it for £104.99

Amazingley ELE9044 is now only £10.67 + VAT, but the genuine one, 265961, is
£50.17. So with such a difference in the price, it is even more tempting to fit the pattern one.
