OK 1st: Are you sure of the make? never heard of a Beken machine.
2nd: Why did you replace the thermostat? did you test it first? Where is the thermostat mounted?

Do you honestly think that these people would’nt tear their appliances apart whether we help them or not? They’d just look on youtube or one of the other idiot sites that are out there, get bad advice & no safety instructions. At least by getting advice from us, if they take the advice given they will be able to do things safely. As for making money by selling parts after giving advice, I know i don’t & I doubt if many of the others do either.
If the site management make money out of it, then good luck to them I imagine it takes a hell of a lot of time & money to run the site.

    Excellent, thanks for the feedback.
What was the problem getting it back together? keep an eye on it for a while in case it leaks again & if it does then turn off & look for it straight away while the leak is still there. A good sealant for high temperature items like dryers is Silicone RTV compound.

Have you checked the Inter board wiring connectors where they plug onto the PCB’s etc? & are you sure you fitted the correct sensor? If so & there are no error codes showing then you are probably looking at a new PCB (Not really worth it) & not a DIY repair or a replacement machine.

Re: Diplomat 8512 – water overheating?

Hi: No unfortunately the only safe & reliable way to test that there is no leakage on the element is useing a 500v insulation tester.
Servie Engineers would normally use an infra red thermometer to test temperature without opening a machine.
If you have a Digital thermometer, put the machine onto a wash programme at say 40 Degrees & let it run until it starts to wash, turn the machine to off & remove the otulet hose from the standpipe. Drain some water into a bowl & test with your thermometer to see what temperature it’s at.

If there is insulation in the way just gently tease it apart, once you’ve replaced the part/parts it will pull back over.

Possibly you have a faulty wash heater element, you will need to disconnect the terminals to the heater & check continuity with a Multimeter.

    Re: Hotpoint WDL520P

Went to look at this 1 today after Mr Wayne 😀 The reason for it being dead (No motor action) was that the motor plug was mysteriously hanging out, The original fault (No dry heat) had’nt been sorted, he’d just disconnected the wiring & left the bare terminals in mid air. 1 of these had touched Earth which was what cause it to trip out.
Replaced drying element, Re-fit Motor plug & everythings hunky dory now.Noticed on this 1 as well that there’s no sealant on the Heater Duct where the 2 halves join together.

    Thanks Again Jim 😀
