Guy I used to work for that sold a lot of re-conditioned machines used to swear by Lemon & Soda crystals for getting rid of nasty smells in washing machines.
He used to put 2 Tablespoons of soda crystals & Half a Fresh Lemon in an old sock or 1 leg of a pair of tights, tie the top & put in the machine on a short Hot wash. Seemed to work the machine allway smelt fresh when you opened them.
Used to do something similar with Microwaves only useing Lemon & Water in a small dish on the Turntable, turn Micro on full power for a few minutes. Also helps loosen stubborn grease.Re: Sarena SK300X/2 Which Element ?

Sorry to hear about your hand mate, hope it heals ok & quickly. Unfortunately your right many, many appliances nowadays have unfinished or badly finished edges that are Razor sharp. Only a short while ago 1 of our colleagues in the trade sliced his hand to the bone on a machine, so badly in fact that he may never be able to work again.

Could be the control but could also be that the element is leaky from Neutral to Earth. You need an insulation tester to check properly.
