Most will do,small amount only needed so buy a small can,try and takeout the old foam in one piece as near as possible so you can seal it back in with the canned foam, use duct tape to support but leave an opening for foam to expand, best left 12 hours and then trim off surplus.

    Re: not cool enough

If you switch off a thermostat on a self defroster it wont cycle back on immediately until temperture rises to its normal switch back on temp,it’s because of the wider differential, these stats are set to so they allow the defrost to take place.
It is bad practice to switch off and then straight back on again, because, the compressor builds up pressure in order to effect refigeration, by switching straight back on the system pressure cant equalize so you are asking the compressor to start against the pressure causing overload which can cause the motor protector to operate.Domestic system don’t generally use capoacitor assisted start relays so dont cope well with switching on and off.
It,s programmed in to most electronic controlled ones so that they always delay compressor start to aloow the equalisation of the system pressure.
KW is correct, difficult to be accurate when not hands on but sounds past repair.

The evaporator is hidden behind that back wall, empty and switch off with door open for 36 hours, you could unplug take that back off and defrost with hair dryer but 36 hours off should clear it.
It could cure problems,if it happens again in a few weeks you may have to look deeper into finding the cause.

You need part no 2601683, switch off, back inside freezer panel off, should be straight swap.
Should be available on his site spares section.

Returned and removed thermostat knob,it doesn’t hide the screw.
The interior light button is rather large and does hide the screw,I cant see anyway of removing it to get to the screw as the rod which operates the switch is latched into it also (whirlpool made ff).
I broke lugs on housing which hold it to main body to get it off.its an absolute pig.
    Thanks whirlpool!!
Mustb have a whirlpool clone but cant find one.

The compresor is the black dome device at the rear of the fridge.
It isn’t wired through the door switch but direct from thermostat so surprised if it is in anyway affected by door opening. If it is a mechanical thermostat as opposed to a pcb control they are sometimes prone to failure after a move.
You could check the thermostat for continuity although you need a meter and some reasonble ability to do it safely.

I didf my F-gas last year and it was said by the instructor that the 3kg is a collective amount, multiple appliances on a site adding up to 3kg would trigger the reg’s.
Is he right? dont know, possibly a pub with a cellar and then bottle cooler plus fridges would add up to that but generally it would take almost 20 average domestic fridges to add up to 3kg.If you are there fixing their private/domestic fridge does the collective come into play?
Who is supposed to inform the owners of such businesses as they dont have a clue about the regs, it’s a right pigs ear all round! Confusion reigns.

A medium setting would suffice, temperaturen should be around the -19c to -22c.
Have a search for a manual online !

I had a real prize at the back of the stat knob with a screwdriver but as it didn’t budge I was wary of damaging it,there is a small slot at the bottom of the housing but on pushing a screwdriver up again nothing wanted to move.
    May return and try again.

If you work through the fault finding procedure in the correct order, ie establish a supply at the compressor,if OK test compressor components and the windings then you will have the correct answer,if no supply at compressor check continuity back to the board, then the board and associated relay..
Establishing the fault correctly reduces wasted time and money either for yourself or the customer.
