If you remove the screws you see, after pulling the plug out,the back panel will come forward. Not easy but you will then see the fan.The fan doesn’t work until the evaporator temp is down to minus 12c ish.

Years ago I disconnected the earth and put a voltmeter in series with the earth and you can watch the voltage to earth decrease as the damp leaves the element.
Bit excited today as The Mighty Lincoln City are in the draw for the FA cup tomoz with the big boys 😀

We regulary cooked the elments prior to fitting either by disconnecting earth for a while or putting them in a working oven, usually means they have got damp somewhere along the line.In my experience 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} will be OK,shove them in the oven for an hour after you have cooked lunch.Take the extra yorkshire puddings out first,oh and don’t forget to take the plastic bag off.Re bag them when cooled in an airtight bag.
I sometimes stick a de- humidifier in my van for the weekend to try keep moisture down amongst the spares.

get a plsatic cable tie and use that to poke down,it runs onto a tray on top of the compressor, the end can attract fluff and block so look behind for that.

Mine, TF113 has just reached 34 years, quality product.I did put a new compressor in mine a few years ago because the cabinet will out last me 😯
I worked for them during that period that was a Sweedish built product, must have had a Volvo designer in on it.

Worked for a “major” and was expected to repair all their products, good training was given so one grew used to finding your way around machines.Depends on your training and capability.
Often walked into customers houses having never seen the product that was faulty even though it was made by the company.
Wouldn’t want now to be stuck with the same products/manufature day in day out, need a challenge.

Re: Electrolux TC115 freezer – dead?

Depends on the temp,if you measure between all pins you will have three readings.
The top pin is common to both windings, so, common to one and common to the other should add up to the reading between the winding pins.
ie the two smaller readings should add up to the larger reading.
You could if these are correct have a mechanical fault so the rotor won’t turn or is jammed which would give the same symptom.

Re: Electrolux TC115 freezer – dead?

Maybe a faulty replacement start device, maybe start windings damaged when power came back on.
It’s not the ptc cooling down it’s an internal protection device in the windings of the compressor that will cut out on overload or overheat, could be a winding gone but under the circumstances would plump for the new ptc failing (they are prone to absorbing damp if stored uncovered).

Have you compared it to the cost of a new shelf.
Repairs are seldom succesful long term IMO.

Alternatively, could the old seal be repaired, at least temporarily? Or has it decomposed into goo over a considerable area?

    Re: Kelvinator Deluxe KCI37A

You have a difficult job on,could be made anywhere as Kelvinator ceased many years ago.
Check the label inside near the salad draw or on the back and try and find country of origion and then search via google.
Thermostats and compressors are universal but cabinet parts are much harder to source.
