Seemed to have touched a nerve there 😯
it’s the principle thats interesting to me.
Could spell the end of refrigerants if proven.
Whirlpool are involved in the UK but there are many companies and institutions around the world trying to perfect the principle.
Incomprehensible pricing is a fact of life, landlord near me called out a gas company to replace a thermocouple, on a Sunday granted, the total bill was £349-00,parts were £9.00 😯 8O.

Re: Diplomat fridge on permanent ‘freeze’

Sounds like a shortage of refrigerant or poor compressor performance.
You would need an engineer to confirm and repair if indeed it were possible.
At the age it is it’s probably better to invest in a replacement.

Re: Beko CGA9956 Hot sides and compressor running

It’s likely that a replacement compressor would be better than the origional if dealing with Beko.
If you but bottom end again it’s odds on you could be in the same position no t too far down the line.
Advice, well my old garage owner said “you can buy a good car of a bad dealer and a bad car off a gooid dealer”.
Weigh it up or stick a pin in,who knows?

This thread should be of interest.
You need a meggar to check for this fault to identify the culprit, probably time for an engineer.

Simply pull out thew tube /phial and after straightening the new one(it comes rolled up)feed it into the tube until it comes to a stop.Change connectors ,job done.

Can you see inside where the thermostat phial/sensor is fitted to the back and is the ice reaching it?

    Re: Candy F/F thermostat

The theremostat has a wide differential,ie the gap between on and off temps, you can’t get it on by turning the dial if the sensor is below the temp required.
It’s bad practice to turn a stat on and off manually more than once as you can force the motor to start against pressure in the system which isn’t advisable.

As far as I can tell it’s a pcb via a sensor that controls temperature not your normal thermostat.
Resistance of the sensor could be checked but it sounds like a control problem, may be down to ambient temp.
All domestic appliances are designed to run at our normal room temp and don’t always perform well in cold situations, cabinets rust and condensation is sometimes an issue.
To check if it is the cold ambient you could move it indoors for a trial period.

Re: Beko CGA9956 Hot sides and compressor running

Ice is not necessarily proving it’s working well.
It should have a nice thin film and then defrosting it 2 or 3 times an hour depending on room temps and load.
You would have to rely on the engineer for the cause finding,if it’s a leak it’s likely very small one and difficult/impossible to find, could be tracable but it can be in a pipe in the walls of the cabinet.
Refrigerant travels through the freezer first and then into the fridge so the freezer may appear normal and can be colder than required in some cases with this fault.

Re: Beko CGA9956 Hot sides and compressor running

The F/F is running all the time because the refigerant possibly having leaked or poor compressor performance is failing to pull the temp down so it won’t switch off.
The refrigerant also cools the motor so when it leaks the motor gets much hotter as does the pipework etc.
Sadly for you Beko are correct in their possibilities,as for surprising, not that surprising with stuff at the bottom end of the market.

I had a customer complaining that jeans were torn and other items in a new machine a few months old, checked around and found 3 or 4 small peices of bamboo in the filter which were left in a pocket, wasn’t that sure at the time they were responsible bt never heards from her again.
Wranglers brought back from US would have cost me phew 🙂

    Re: Candy F/F thermostat

The phial/sensor part should be fairly firmly fastened to the back plate in order to sense the temp.
What’s the fridge temp after 3 or 4 hours.
open circuit simply means that the circuit is broken,no path through for the voltage, either by the switch being open or failure of the device, contacts in the switch/thermostat can break.
If when it’s running there is no feeling of cold or icing up on the back of the fridge then you could have a system fault ie ,short of gas or poor compressor performance, that could be laso why it rune continuously.
