    Re: Just Another Member Service

    Good idea.

Not only will it promote the WTA and what it stands for.

I have no objection to using at a directing traffic to UKW to buy consumables. Although would like them to buy from my site as well. 😆

Its advertising for both parties and we need POS material on warranties.

If you have a sponser / or advertiser on it this would cover most of the cost, so you should have to.

Re: People who don,nt want to pay

Yes you should tell them your rates before hand.

Although even when you tell them there is still no guarantee of payment 😕

These people really P**s me off, ask someone into your home to do a job and not pay. What planet are they on:?

At the end of the day they called you, So why not ask what you charge.

Would you phone a garage and ask for a set of tyres without checking the cost.
Would you do your weekly shop and get to the checkout and say I wasn’t quite expecting that bill can i take it now and send my wife in later and pay.

    No thought not. 😳

Why is our trade so different ❓

Are we a registered charity, sometimes me think so 😆

    Re: Google Search

    Thanks for that Martin,

Interesting, way over my head 😕

The search for ‘Washing machine repairs in bristol’ is just something that some one may use to find us. If they know who we are its not a problem.
This sentance is amongs our text in the web site so is this not ‘key words’.

But its just strange that two computers networked can come up with different rankings.

I will get my man on to it to see if he can sort it. 😆

Bazza what was the out come of your code?

I had the same code this week, Heater OC, removed it to find scaled up 😮

    Less than 12 mths :rolls:

We do have a hard water problem, customer has done boil washes as it states and what i told him but forgot the descale every month.
Element looked like it had been in there for years 😯

    Re: AW23 Drumming Noise

I have found the noise on this one, noticed that there was a small shread of rubber in the base from the belt. :rolls:

So removed the belt, the edge of it was sliced and found another small strip of rubber around the motor pulley unwound it and replaced the belt.

Job done now nice and quiet 😉

The noise on the second one I have which sounds like a graunching from the motor as thou under strain when turning with a load on the initial up action happens on every wash. (spin no problem)

The machine has done at least 15 washes now, so brushes should have bedded by now but on the roll back after agitation there is a slight clicking noise from the brushes. On occasions there is also a bit of spiking.
So think there is a motor problem just waiting for replacement to confirm, or is it worth changing brushes first:?

    Hi Steve

Never got to the bottom of this one, see below.
My customer just been putting up with it.

Has this fault on yours been there since day 1?

The only thing never done was change the whole dispenser!

Thing is dont think it will sort problem as the problem stems with the valve operating just before the spin cycle and not for long that is why it is not sufficiant to start syphoning.

I think it was a quirk in only 2 one i had. 😳

Re: Qualtex discount scheme for WTA.

We need to get as much as we can from MP & Qualtex and try to move more business their way.

Connect wont offer anything we know we are all different rates thats a fact and nothing we can do will change that :rolls:

They will however always come if invited just to see whats going on!

IMO they really dont give a damn about the trade, they are now too big to care about us mere mortals and know we need them more than they need us.
I think their interests lay more towards the retail sector.
They will be happy when they have complete control of the market.
It is a real shame that connect feel the need to head this way. But they already have everything under one roof or should I say two; spares and service. They have all the angles covered, thats business I suppose you have to grabb what you can and seize all the opportunities.

We can’t completely ignor them and as the saying goes
‘keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer…
Allow them to see what the others are offering, I am sure they wont loose much sleep over it.

Has anyone done a draft copy of the questionaire,?
Will the OFT need to see it?
    How many questions are required?

I have had an attempt if you want to mull over it?

I copy it across later if so.

I believe they came to UKWG meeting many moons ago and offered their services not sure whether they will offer any extra discount structure.

I have spoken to my local Unifit/homespare guy who will get me a name.

I use unifit alot as he only lives down the road from me so any spares i need just call and collect, not always the cheapest but he has always got stock.

I have a contact name for them, Ask for Andy Swarsbrick, tell them got number from me via Adrain Davies.
They are happy for anyone to open account havent discussed any discounts at this stage but those who dont already use them start up then maybe later in the year approach them again for negociation.

If you would like to use my guy for spares you can call him direct mention me and he can ship out direct. His Name is Adrian Davies 07831 287395.

    Re: OFT Meeting agreed…

Spoke to Charles again, in depth, now getting a tad confusing! Now talking about incentives to give to customers to get the returns of questionairres they require.

I thought they might do this, had a questionaire recently from my local garage requesting a customer survey, they were offering a holiday or service bill paid.

Obviously we cant do something quite as big as a holiday, but maybe we could come up with something?

    Ideas list?

    1) Get your repair bill refunded?
    2) £xx vouchure off an ISE product?
    3) Bottle of Kens JD? 😆
