    Re: Feb 2010 meeting

Business / Vehicle Insurance is ofton mentioned in the forums.

So I have been in touch with a company Ken put me in touch with who gave me a good deal.

I have asked if they would be able to offer any discounts etc and if they would do a presentation of sorts.

Hope this was ok without checking with the rest of you 😳

    Re: Naylon Hand Pads

The problem of bearing failure is not the bearings themselves even if they have the protective water shielding, all this does is delays the inevitable for a few months. Its the water seals these need to be designed better.

As many of you will remember the old enamelled zanussi tub with cast iron spider, the shaft collar would protrude virtually outside of the drum through a small hole so less likely the seal would fail even with high water levels bearings would last for years without changing.

The same bearings, seals and shaft is used in many of the new zanussi plastic tubs, is it the drum design or just the quality of parts that they dont seem to last as long as they did in the metal drums?

Why is it they design with tubs with no drainage hole in the bearing hub to drain water out when the seals fail?

Going on the amount of contract work the average dealer gets at the moment you will be running at a loss its going to take over 2 years to recoup your investment :rolls:

Who the hell in their right mind would want to drive round in a yellow van with a screwdriver stuck to the top, if that was parked up round here that would surley go missing overnight.( the screwdriver not the van, even thieves wouldn,t stoop that low) 😆

As lee said cheaper to buy your own tools and desent van and get out there find the work.

I had a thought just looking at this van 💡

Picture the scene of the next final destination movie ❗

Driving down a country road minding your own when suddenly
without warning you see a blinding flash you look up to see a screwdriving heading towards you.
What the F88k ❗ Your 😯 its no good :duck: ing, Its too late   Your screwed :rotl:

    Re: Neff fan oven elements

We use in the main Unifit / Homespare elements and generally do not get any problems within 12mths.

They may cost a little more but if they last longer then at least its not an embarrasing recall customer blaming it on shoddy workman ship!

If concearned you are out of pocket just charge a bit extra for the elements to cover the odd failure, but many pattern elements only cost £8 and retail for well over double so shouldnt need too.

The other thing i have found on occasions is Cleaning products (if they clean em)? 😳
When a customer goes mad and do a yearly clean usually just before christmas. They spray mr XXX everywhere, but foget to take the liners off or protect the element.
IMO these cleaning products cause premature failure.
You can tell the ones who do use it as when you remove the rear covers there a white slimey streaks all over. :rolls:

yes i had a customer who would do the same, they hold the start button to long. Because it takes a few seconds to reset and select the chosen program; which also gives you time to set delay they think it hasnt started so keep finger on it.

Ahh!! we’ll all be that old one day and sure be just as confused with this modern technology 😳

    Model SGV4313GB07.
This board was quite badly blown tracks on the one side with the usual heater relay contact joint melted, Triac on the other.

No transfer motor on heater on this one. So must be dispenser.

Have checked this one the dispenser is not opening?

New dispenser and pcb fitted 264882.

Configured pcb as per instructions, yet it fill, heats and washes ok, just not releasing detergent.

No supply from board. 😕 Any. 💡 could it be Faulty pcb ❓ or am i missing something?

Sorry Pinky your right ment triac.

Re: No Parts Available If Retail Price Below £250?

Does this mean that if a manufacturer will not have a legal responisbility for spares even under guarantee they wont have an obligation to exchange the product either if it becomes faulty? Again manufactures putting all the responsibility back on the retailer to look after the crapp they build. ❓

As there is no retail price as such and we can sell products for what we want; what if you put the price up to £259 will they then supply parts. 😳

Many indies dont sell major appliances under this price so should not really affect us (with the exception to some refrigeration).
More of a problem for muliples who pile em high sell em cheap.
So far more write offs how can this be good for the environment.

Oh well I suppose this will push the selling price up which wont be a bad thing; the cost of repair will then be worth doing (if you can of course get the parts) :rolls:

Anyone have a template or know the correct wording required for the collection notes.

‘Spares’ do you all leave the old parts for the customer to dispose of (customers bin to landfill) or can you use the forms for scrap parts as well?

    Jim

I have resold a previously registered appliance, customer had an ise2-1 and wanted to upgrade it to the 5-2.
So when i then resold it (obviously at a lower price) explained that the previous customer had an upgrade and this is now sold as graded or used the guarantee is now only 18mths.

Just tell David the customers new details it should not be a problem!!

Now you have been out to this one and as it is a user fault charge them on this occasion but now you have now checked the install condition and your happy with the setup you could tell them that the machine will still be covered for manufacture breakdown for the remainder as long as its being used as per the t&c.

    Its your call!!
