ParticipantI suspect you are looking for 49030389. If so, this part comes with the little screw (at least when supplied in the Hoover branded bag, which isn’t the case for all suppliers).

ParticipantAccording to that marvellous resource Wikipedia, it looks like Whirlpool acquired a 53{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} stake in the large appliances division of Philips in 1988, with the remaining 47{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} being bought in 1991. From Companies House records, it looks like Philips had already offloaded their tumble dryer and Hostess Trolley business to Crosslee in 1986, so never part of Whirlpool.
What I haven’t been able to find, is when and from whom Whirlpool acquired the tumble dryer factory in Amiens, France, which under the Whirlpool name produced one of the best tumble dryer designs on the market.

ParticipantYeah, if someone has access to the service manual, interpreting the fault code is your best bet.
Given almost all power electrics on later Hotpoint/Indesit dishwashers like this one are in the base, a fault code is unlikely to indicate a wiring fault in the door.
All base-mounted power modules on Hotpoint/Indesit dishwashers like this come unprogrammed and require a software upload. But personally, with a fault code displayed, a fault with the electronics is the last thing I would suspect

ParticipantCan I take it you get no sounds at all?
Module – unlikely
Broken wire – possible. Easiest way to confirm is to tug on each wire individually from inside the door

ParticipantBeko blaming the closure plans on heat pump technology is surely disingenuous – Yate has been producing heat pump dryers for several years.
The real reason has got to be the crude and outdated design platforms, with some components such as the tiny rear drum bearings barely unchanged since the 1960s, together with the substantially inferior component quality introduced by Indesit when they got their hands on the factory in the early 2000s, which since then has made these machines wholly unsuited to current day laundry requirements, not to mention an ongoing fire hazard.

ParticipantInteresting. Looking into the Whirlpool/Arcelik deal, apparently Whirlpool own only 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the merged company, know as Beko Europe, so if Bosch bought Whirlpool, they would only own 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the Beko, Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Indesit brands in Europe. Perhaps their sights are more on Whirlpool in the North American market.
Considering the Beko/Whirlpool merger, I assume there will be some rationalisation of production platforms. I for one wouldn’t be sad to see the back of the dreadful and troubled Hotpoint tumble dryer plarform, though sadly this would likely mean closure of the last major laundry/dishwashing production facility in the UK.

ParticipantThat picture reminds me of a Whirlpool dishwasher in a lean-to-cum-conservatory filled with boxes containing shredded newspaper. When moving the boxes, mice scarpered everywhere. Luckily, parts to resolve the dishwasher leak were no longer available.
My first encounter with a rodent however was across the terminal block behind the lower front panel of a 1990s Bosch dishwasher – I imagine its death was instantaneous.

ParticipantAh, OK, I was thinking faulty flow meter, but then program would usually progress through with high water level

ParticipantDoes it progress through the cycle?

Two typos: it should read …over 6 months overdue… and … some kind of financial difficulty.

ParticipantIt might be worth checking the dryer fluff filter – these are very prone to blocking up if its the type I’m thinking of. I have seen a blocked dryer filter cause interruption of the drying cycle on a similar Hotpoint model, with a fault code displayed (though I can’t remember which).

ParticipantI’d second that – low insulation resistance of dryer element when hot is likely playing havoc with the electronic control and on-board diagnostics

Indeed, that is a decision for the customer – how far up the pyramid they can afford to go – which will depend on budget, current prices and how long an investment they want to make. In terms of value for money, I feel Samsung and Smeg are often over-rated, whereas Beko usually stands up well.
