the water level should be below the bottom of the glass door which makes it difficult to tell if it is heating or not.
the machine only heats up at one part of the program, the only way you could easily tell if it is heating is by feeling the temperature of the water coming out of the machine when it comes to its first emptying position.
i.e. put it onto its hottest wash when it empties the first time feel how hot the drain hose (grey corrugated coming out of the bottom back of the machine).
watch in case its really hot if you do go any further take the plug out.suedehead1

adamhornsby wrote:Richard, we have an old Hoover AC180, its lasted my parents 15 years, (only 2 years behind me) and i can honestly say, its been a good machine, but its developed quite a major fault, which is posted somewhere in this forum. Hopefully we’ll be getting a brand new Miele W3922WPS washing machine and a T8622C tumbler, what do you think to those?
You would think if someone had a hoover machine for 15 years, they would consider buying another one.
time to change the name of this site to mielewhitegoods.co.uk.
or closedownbritishindustry.co.uksuedehead1

beware of repair men with a bosch washing machine in the back of his van.
thats all we in the trade need i will be getting some funny looks tommorrow.
£100 to fit a pump unbelievable.
unfortunately in my area we are plagued with cowboys the usual scam is scrap the machine without taking lid or back of it, then they charge £35 for the priviledge “thats for my time” is the excuse.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: In-de S**t Washer/ Dryer
These machines are bad for water dripping onto the circuit board from the dryer as you probably know.
you could always try changing the presure switch it can also cause that type of problem.
on the bright side you are still £2 up on the day.suedehead1

i would check all the wiring going to the heater, stats and fan motor.
pay particular attention to where it is clamped to 2 metal bracket one coming off the duct and one on the fan housing.
these wires are normally wrapped in black tape but that wont stop the wires getting rubbed through.obviously do this with the plug out.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WT761P DEAD!
the first year is covered by parts and labour guarantee.
shoddy treatment is making someone wait 9 days for an engineer to call out.
sale of goods act, machine not fit for the purpose for which it was bought, ie. it doesnt work.
i dont tell people what to do i am only trying to help.
in 9 days time an engineer will call out and probably tell you what penguin has told you.
next question does he have the part? if not when will he get it when will it be fixed?
more importantly why has it gone faulty? will it go again?
you have bought a hotpoint but you have established that it is in fact an indesit.
i dont have anthing against these machines but they dont seem to be favoured in recent times.
i would phone trading standards myself.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WT761P DEAD!
I always advise people if it is under its guarantee do not touch it or you could invalidate the guarantee.
i dont know why you would want to pay currys £55 a year for a protection plan when the machine alredy has a 5 years parts guarantee.
i know what i would do, but they will still tell you that you need an engineers visit.
if you collected it did you install it properly.
if you collected it why dont you take it back.
i am sorry if this seems a bit strong but i dont know why anyone would accept shoddy treatment like this on a brand new machine.

ParticipantRe: Creda T622CW tumble dryer thermostat
I dont think we are supposed to give wiring solutions but as usual I take no responsibility for any deaths if its wrong.
plug out.
The thermostat with the green spot goes in the left hole as you look at it.
This should make it obvious which wires go on.
the orange wires go on the green spot thermostat.i hope someone corrects me if i am wrong, i am going from memory.

I dont take offence at anything either. I do like a bit of a laugh, grammar has never been my strong point.
What I really hate is when customers send me text messages.
No punctuation, and abbreviations which I dont understand. To me GR8 is a model number, lol is either lots of love or laugh out loud or probably neither.
Any criticsm welcomed and usually ignored.
This would appear to be my 150th post i dont have post some rubbish.lol
