    Re: Logic w/m

The problem is now you have changed so many parts you are kind of admitting there is a problem but it cant be resolved.

Unless I see a definite leak I never change parts even if you think they may be the culprit as you may cause a leak when changing the suspected part. Also you waste a lot of time & money trying to convince the customer…

Re: Possible Earth fault on oven.

Have you actually checked continuity of the cpc wire itself (disconnected it from the plate – socket) from the oven/hob to the wall socket.

The cpc wire that runs from the cooker switch plate all the way back to the Consumer unit (should be connected with the bank of cpc’s in a block)

If this is the case which it should be then it doesn’t matter if its on its on MCB.

I would give the pulley bolt one swift hit with a cold chisel & lump hammer (anticlockwise) Hit it on the outer edge!

Eliminated any door closure issues as well by pulling the machine forward slightly out of its housing…

    Re: Healthcheck Rules

Maybe it’s best I hold fire to see what the customer will be told the Health check will involve.
I think with what I have read so far it’s too ambiguous.
There are plenty of machines that don’t stop or flag up codes with heater faults & when will we know to its ok or acceptable to do a Martindale test or not?
I don’t think I even know what a manufacturers spec test even entails??

    Re: Healthcheck Rules

How do you check the operation of a heater without removing the machine or putting your tester on it?
How do you check a filter when its hidden behind a plinth which has been siliconed in?

Are these going to be on the Helath check requirements seen by the customer?

How about checking if a socket is overheating behind an integrated dishwasher?

    So many…

I just wonder what the customer is going to get for their money along with what the expectations will be. (A lot higher than ours…)

    Re: Healthcheck Rules

    Afternoon

I get the idea of these Health checks but not sure what it accomplishes in turning a machine on & visually checking the machine without pulling it out & removing any panels. (I know tumble dryers require a move involved check)

The other thing is that if a customer wants me to ‘service’ their washing machine I clean filters, check parts visually & operationally plus carry out earth & insulation tests etc etc. I charge £59 including VAT for that.(That’s one machine not up to 3)
Some customers seeing this Health check will be expecting pretty much all that for £45 with you also doing the dryer & dishwasher at the same time!

Another concern is lets say you carry out a Health check but decide it wasn’t feasible to clean out a filter (not a necessity of the Health check) & then two days later a rusted up coin is the culprit in the machine not pumping out, what happens if the customer kicks off that we haven’t carried out the Health check properly…

Many more scenarios but don’t want to come across like I’m trying to pick holes.

    Cheers

    Tim.

Can’t you take the door off & then just remove the front inspection panel.
You can sort a lot of things just through that panel…

    Wow.
It was the UK’s turn to take a hit at some stage so I guess Brexit is a good excuse, I suppose it’s chin up time. We are good at that in this ‘trade’ !!

Re: ISE10 drains after a few minutes, then turns off.

That sort of error could be due to dampness on / around the water temperature sensor.
Quite often running a hairdryer near with the back panel off can dry things out…
Obviously unplug the machine from the electrics!!
