ParticipantIt will be the winter mode heater, it is activated by the cool plus switch, it is designed to warm the area just below the thermostat housing to ensure the thermostat brings the compressor back on in low ambient temperatures, it is only used if the room temperature is too cold, if its not just flick the cool plus switch to 0.

ParticipantThe Liebherr ICUS 2924 is 158 cm tall, but only offers a two drawer freezer section below the fridge compartment.

your fridge evaporator sensor is failing, you need part 9590206 can be bought on this site to fit your CNES3666 20G-147

I agree copper pipes do not generally leak on domestic units, other than a poorly brazed joint in manufacture, these units will be losing the gas the moment they leave the factory, most evaporators are made of aluminium pipe ( not the plate type ) they can and do develop leaks, we are having terrible trouble on many makes of commercial units leaking refrigerant from the system coils, and these are made of copper tube, No I have not seen any stats from any manufacturers on refrigerant leaks on their systems, Liebherr who I have worked for as a service provider for 19 years have a very low percentage of internal leaks, from what I see on a daily basis.
But not all the pipework on fridges is copper and aluminium there is also ferrous metals that make up the condenser and frame heat exchange pipework which can and does rust in certain ambient conditions or if subjected to moisture. I base my comments on having been repairing refrigeration for 46 years all makes and types.Tony R
ParticipantRe: Give up on Smeg fridge freezer?
Internal gas leaks do happen, corrosion in the pipework buried in the insulation is something I see on many makes of units, old and relatively new, cheap or expensive, it makes no difference and they cannot be repaired. I agree that a valve should have been fitted to test the system pressure, NOT SNAP OFF the pipe and guess that it was out of gas, as most systems on R600a have only a few grams of gas in the system and then listening for a hiss is beyond belief. I will add that R600a although flammable is environmentally friendly.

ParticipantRe: Not Cooling
This is a commercial refrigeration unit, not a domestic freezer.
So only an Engineer with commercial expertise can offer advise, and as one advise you to get another to look at it.Tony R
ParticipantRe: Miele KDN12823S iced up evaparator
There is a sensor inserted into the bottom of the freezer coil, this sensor determines the end of the defrost cycle and the operation of fan.
Defrost is controlled by the integral board as my previous comment.
I would say that this is more than likely where your problem lies.
Changing the sensor is your best route.Tony R
ParticipantRe: Miele KDN12823S iced up evaparator
Defrosting: ON: – During start-up after 6 hours cumulative compressor running time. – After a cumulative compressor running time of 6 to 60 hours maximum, depending on the number/duration of the door openings.

ParticipantRe: Is there a service mode for a Liebherr IKB3660 fridge?
Liebherr Engineers only have access to manuals etc, and we are forbidden to place service information into the public domain.
Best Advise would be to change all three sensors, but there is a very slim chance the integral board maybe faulty.Tony R

Sorry Conal, that is not the index number, it is directly after the model number and will be something like 164-22

ParticipantRe: Liebherr IKB3660 fridge fault
The icing up can be caused by malfunction of any of the sensors, you may find it best to replace all three, you said the fan works so that can be eliminated as faulty, but it is controlled by one of the sensors. The replacement kit is part # 9590206, they have been designed to fit behind the rear wall. the kits are available from this site.

ParticipantRe: Liebherr IKB3660 fridge fault
Index or service number required to identify production period and parts fitted on the unit at that time.

ParticipantRe: MIELE KF7654 SNE Temperature Sensors
I can confirm the correct part numbers if you can give me the index number on your unit, it is on the rating plate after the model number, as there are several versions, but all are Liebherr made and the Liebherr parts will be cheaper on this site.

ParticipantRe: MIELE KF7654 SNE Temperature Sensors
Resistance changes as it senses the drop or rise in temperature.
Just checked the parts diagram, sorry you have fitted the wrong sensor, the 9590206 is not the sensor repair kit for the evaporator on your model, and the air has no repair kit option and has to be the exact part.
