Am I seeing things or are you related to kwatt? I have to say the likenes is uncanny. 😆

Long live wguk in this fantastic format ……If you want to know who I am you only have to ask! and then I can decide if you need to know 😀

my feeling is that if you have lost work/spares accounts because of this site, then you are probably better off without them 8)

    Thanks all for your replys!

I was having a problem getting an in column larder (Now sorted) I normally use D.A.D but they didn’t have stock I had no luck anywhere else.

Gorenje wouldn’t supply direct – tried that!

I am selling a few of the Gorenje finished goods & they seem (So far) to be easy to sell with the guarantee & aftersales service.

Customer doesn’t have to register the guarantee either HOORAY!

Or……..”manufactures guarantee does not imply appliance will be suitable for purpose. furthermore the purchase of an extended warranty will not cover faults”

Re: who to work for now

A customer told me the other day that because she is on a tracker mortgage she is now some £300 better off per month since last year. She doesn’t have a huge mortgage, but she has an extra £300 per month to spend along with many others who have a tracker mortgage.

Despite this fact you can be persuaded that it is not the right time to start your own business – I disagree.

I only do private & lettings work, I only advertised in shop windows to start & even negotiated a deal for a six month ad.

    No yellow books
    No newspaper ads
    No leaflets

The next step was parish mags – cheap and people trust ads in them. They generally have local news etc so people keep them for a month b4 the next one comes out & if you are in them EVERY month you will get work as people remember seeing “Someone advertising”

Spend your money on looking smart! turn up when you say you will and ‘phone if you are to be five mins late.

Spend your time finding as many free ad websites as you can there are loads! Touch local in my experience is Brilliant, but there are lots more.

If you are unsure, then start with the web ads, start a free website and just list what you do along with a ‘phone number……you will be pleasantly surprised at how many people now look online for a repair, but you must spend the time finding all the free ad sites and choose your key words carefuly.

Pricing…..Don’t try to compete with the rest of the world! don’t say “Oh uhhm that will be £59 labour charge madam” rather “I can do that for just £59 inc Vat” You are the BEST and therefor will charge accordingly.

Think long and hard before you name your new business ….who would you call first “Cheap as chips” or “Value Appliances”

I will now count backwards from ten & when I click my fingers you will open your eyes……… 😆

But seriously good Luck & if your heart is in it you can’t go wrong! Don’t waste another second! DO IT NOW 🙂

    Re: Indesit franchise

I am currently a very very happy franchisee for the indesit co. they are a very decent & honest company.

I have just made my first million after only 18 months!

the uniform is great …..although a little tight! I really can’t understand why they need so many straps? I like the colour though ‘cos white kinda goes with everything 😀

Sometimes when people call me I have to say “I am tied up right now” but that is only when I am working from the office, which incidently is a new take on “Flocked” wallpaper…….Mine is nicely quilted and it is on the floor as well as all the walls!

Must go now ‘cos Babe wants her wings trimmed.

Oh good luck with your new FRANCHISE 😈

Okay okay…..I have to own up!

It was me 😳 ….I fitted the 1.6kw

Just kidding of course, but you must learn to let it go :rotfl: besides, the customer will love all that extra oven heat.

Mind you, I guess you are gonna get the blame now for burnt cakes :rolls:

Re: 1.6kw element or 2.5kw cooker fan oven element

Okay……this was annoying me, so I phoned the spares dept of stoves for you!

There is apparantly a choice of four elements depending on the serial number (Date of production)

The good news is that they are all 2.5kw.

The phone number for glen/dimplex (Stoves) is 0151426701111

Re: 1.6kw element or 2.5kw cooker fan oven element

What is the cooker model? You forgot to say.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend a 2.5kw ….it will draw more current. Is it a built in oven? double or single cavity? what is the circuit protected by?

Typical huh? you ask one question & get four in return 😆

Re: Tea for two……..not on your Nelly!

In the hot summer of ninety one I think it was…..my brother and I delivered a new wahing machine to a country house.

Customer not only offered us a cold drink but also a dip in the outdoor pool! we both declined, but then looked at one another & thought “What the heck”

In we both went! Customers daughter served us iced drinks on a silver tray……….I NEVER forgot that customer and although I now live miles away I could still remember the house location.
