I think the whole point is about selling. If you want your customer to buy a new product you have to sell it.

The process for a repair is the same…..you have to sel it, and selling is a far different skill to repairing!

Martin no mind reading? …..What sort of service engineer are you! 😆

    SGS56E02GB/35

I have asked customer to test empty and she says same results. I definately saw top arm rotating – it showered me when I opened the door a little!

Will have to check for that small hose Brian. Many thanks for all responses so far.

An open circuit (Or sticking) drain pump causes VERY similar fault, just a thought and worth a try just to plug another pump in?

I had one of these that kept getting blocked I went back to it three or four times and on the last visit the pump was intermittent and it just wouldn’t stay on the selected programme.

    The pump was faulty.

    I have sold a few……no problems YET!

I must say though, they are easy to sell because of the features. There are not many machines that will do a quick thirty minute wash AND finish it with a 1200 spin.

Features are no good of course if the reliability is pants!

Cancel that! ……..I have just been reliably informed it is almost certainly the 10 microsparrow capacitor that is faulty!

Also take the small cover off the back and you will find a resetable cut-out – it may have popped out (Check no blockages etc.

    🙂

Haven’t looked at any LG driers YET, but it sounds like perhaps a faulty start relay?

    Re: Hoover HNL2136S overfill

Just a thought………have you taken the hose off & blown through it whilst in a bowl of water, It won’t find the fault but it will give you rosey cheeks!

No only kidding! …..I just thought that maybe if there is a pinprick hole in the hose, you would activate the switch by blowing through hose but the air pressure from water rising wouldn’t be sufficient……If that makes sense?

    Re: MIELE W847 flood?

DOH! The correct model numbver is W487S.
Therefor there are NO carbon brushes. There are no obvious signs – the tacho gives a resistance reading and the motor runs freely although there are rust marks on the casing of the motor.

I guess it needs a new motor? Miele have quoted over three hundred quid for a new motor………..anyone any ideas please (Apart from a remortgage) It just seems such a waste to scrap it although I hear the price of scrap has risen lately 😆
