Thanks Dave, will there be instructions on how to remove the door and replacing the glass?

ah, it’s er complicated… initially there’s no fees unless if you don’t use it which I’ve learnt the hard way. Approx £50 every six months for not using it. Long story, moved house and tried to update the change of address but hit few snags which led me to not using the card, I couldn’t use Esso diesel as my Transit demands the finest diesel from BP or Shell. Low grade diesel caused emission problems with the Transit. This is how I discovered the charges which I wasn’t even aware of applied every six months. Probably mentioned in the small prints somewhere.

Reached agreement, went half on the purchase price on replacement tank and disclaimer signed off. End of matter.

liabilty insurance is aware and will file the case in case the customer turns.

I would have said that it was all too likely going to fail anyway and this is probably a coincidence more than much else.

I only offered to replace the filter as there was a scope to make few extra quids alongside fixing her dishwasher. I didn’t expect it to turn out to be a right disaster that I would be held liable for it. I have not done anything different that a layperson would have done if he or she replaced the filter themselves. The manufacturer is saying that if filter hasn’t been replaced for more than 8 months then don’t replace it at all, just let it die slowly. I thought what’s going on? They landed me in the sh!t.

Noting in the owner’s manual about this other than change your filter every 6 months

I couldn’t see burnt tracks on the board at the time but I did suspect it could be the board being the problem. The customer’s experiences of two engineers letting her down left her feeling nervous, I am trying to find a low cost route for her and did mention that there is a possibility that the board is the culprit. She felt that she waited long enough with the broken dishwasher and is very eager to replace the dishwasher with anything but Smeg due to the reasons of engineers refusing to come out. I explained that Smeg in general as a whole are decent and very rarely I come out to it perhaps they are few and far between. I don’t have a problem with Smeg dishwasher. Thank you for the suggestion by the way.

No I haven’t. Do you have their phone number? Miele is not my main forte on appliance repairs, I do predominately Beko, Bosch and Hotpoint. There are a fair few Miele customers in my area, just lacking in experience. Hence the old Miele and wash motor.

also whats the door latch like ?

There aren’t any stickers or labels indicating model and serial numbers either front, sides and rear.

The main oven door latch is a spring loaded catch with the door being female and the striker is on the main body.

The oven is basic in itself, not a multifunctional type, just a simple fan oven with temperature control. it applies to both left main oven and right tall oven each have their own temperature control by simply turning it on to temperature setting.

Re: washing machines in the back of vans!

My wife works at the local food bank, I don’t recall anyone complains of broken washer or the lack of it. It’s far much cheaper to get clothes from charity shops than running a mobile washer.

I had considered on a trailer that would enable to loan a washer on an emergency basis while their washer is being dealt with. Great concept but fraught with lots of complexities. My line of thoughts are window cleaners carry a ton of water in the back and see if some sort of joint venture to make it work. There’s no demand for such thing at the moment. Maybe for campsites/festivals might work?

Apparently a calibration cured the fault – well that was a first! Never came across a calibration curing the fault before.

    Found enr C7660n1GB/04 on app.

Is this the same applies to EF688/02?

Owner lost the manual and I am struggling to find the correct model number.

It has a fill pipe sys display on board, assuming that the pump has failed. The owner vaguely said that the frother wasn’t up to speed. Just checking my diagnosis is correct as I have been given this machine to fix up for myself to keep and treat the wife to a daily fresh coffee.
