ParticipantRe: Neff inverter Microwave magnetron replacement
I seem to remember Panasonic technical recommended changing both items even if just one was faulty but could often get away with changing the Magnetron if it was just cracked magnets.

Thanks BSH-Man.
I cringed when she told me this but the insulation on the motor checked out OK and there where no signs of any segments lifted on the armature so I thought she’d got away with it.
Guess I was wrong!Twoten

Thanks Martin,
By a process of elimination I was coming to that conclusion but wanted another opinion.Twoten

pbsa 12 b1 or similar model
and would you believe it was £30 quid from lidl !!For 30 quid I guess you can’t go too far wrong but with limited space in the tool-case I find the inline style of screwdriver takes up little room.

ParticipantRe: Which cordless screwdriver?
Martin, I’m definitely tempted to get one of these.

Can you control how hard you drive the screw in or is there a likelihood of stripping the thread?

I’ve just found a couple of Makita ‘Pencil’ screwdrivers.
Both look good…Sweet cheeses! Bl@@dy expensive too. I wouldn’t waste my hard earned on them. As for an impact driver? Not needed in this trade IMO.
The Dewalt I’m replacing because I’m struggling to get replacement batteries for is 14 years old. It was expensive when I bought it but considering the use it’s had, it was a bloody good investment, so I don’t mind spending a bit more to get something descent again.Twoten

I’ve just found a couple of Makita ‘Pencil’ screwdrivers.
Both look good, compact with 7.2v batteries.

and

The difference between the two models is one uses a torque setting the other is an impact screwdriver.
Has anyone tried an ‘impact’ screwdriver for this trade?Twoten

That’s why I didn’t buy the replacement Dewalt because it was to big for my overcrowded tool box!!It was perfect for the work we do

How does the one you have now (Energer) compare with power?Twoten
ParticipantRe: Which cordless screwdriver?
The dewalt I had before was inline but could be angled if preferred. This was a great arrangement as it didn’t take up too much space in the toolbox. It had a really good torque and a battery would last a good week or two.
I have just found this http://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/bosch-gwi-10-8-v-li-angle-drill-driver-inc-2x-2-0ah-batt#gref which looks interesting if not a bit pricey.Twoten
ParticipantRe: Which cordless screwdriver?
I have spoken to a couple of battery suppliers (including this one) and they have advise not to use the Ni-Cd charger for Ni-MH batteries as it could be dangerous.
I have also looked for a charger for the Ni-MH but the only one I can find is about £100 which isn’t far off the cost of the Screwdriver, factor in a couple of replacement batteries ad it’s not viable.Twoten
ParticipantRe: Which cordless screwdriver?
Thanks for the link Dave.
I guess they can get away with supplying NiCd as they are in China.
I’m a bit uncertain purchasing rechargeable batteries from china as there is quite a bit of negative information online regarding this and if the quality is anything like their washing machines…..need I say More?
Also, purchasing from China, where do I stand importing something against the EU directive and what happens to my consumer rights?(Edit) Just found this https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www. … tery.co.uk
Having said that, it still might be worth having a go so I can use my old rechargeable Screwdriver again (maybe not now).
In the mean time it would still be useful to know if there are any other recommendations for an alternative?Twoten

ParticipantRe: Bosch logixx SRS55L02GB/21
The element and thermostat (instantaneous water heater) on this machine is situated in the plastic base beneath the tank.
It can be accessed for testing by removing the lid then the R/H side panel (after disconnecting from the power). If the machine is not heating it could either be the element or the PCB.
If the Instantaneous water heater is faulty it’s not the easiest of things to replace.
