I have checked the door switches (including the one hidden away in the back). I have also checked the monitor fuse and thermostats.

Returned today, the PCB was properly located in the fascia.
Tried to reprogramme but as the 4th button didn’t work I couldn’t get into program mode. So it looks like a PCB fault.
The machine also had an intermittent drain fault, problem is the customer keeps checking the impeller before I get to it so can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure but from what he tells me I suspect it needs a pump as well as a PCB so it’s probably BER.

ParticipantnomadPaul wrote:Did you take off the hose between drawer and tub to clean it or just clean it in-situ ?
First visit I cleaned it in situe, last visit I removed it completely and cleaned thoroughly, there was a bit of gunge inside but I didn’t think enough to cause a problem unless it affects the flow slightly causing turbulence.
nomadPaul wrote:Oh , and as well as cleaning the hose between rear of tub and container , did you clear out the tube where it connects to the container and the container itself ? ?
Not sure which container you are referring to? I did clean both drawer and tub where the dispenser to tub hose fits and I cleaned the air break in the drain hose and the hose between.
I’m waiting until the customer uses it tomorrow to see if it’s resolved.

Martin wrote:Just another thought……The ball valve in the sump hose could be sticking and causing water to shoot up the dispenser/tub hose maybe???
Thanks Martin,
I had considered this but thought that once it starts to fill it would be closed against the tub anyway.
If it sticks shut could it cause this?

Worth a check but I can’t see why this would cause the water to ‘glug’ up the dispenser to tub hose, any water that comes through the dispenser lid will have to run to the back of the drawer, if the dispenser lid is blocked the water will run down the back into the same area so I don’t see why it would make any difference. Usually when these block it doesn’t take the fabric conditioner which is not a problem with this one.
The odd thing with this it only appears to happen during a rinses following a wash. When you put the machine straight on to any program or rinse it can’t be replicated. I guess we have to put that down to the law of Sod!
The customer is giving another try following my last visit, if it comes back again (which wouldn’t surprise me I will strip and clean the dispenser lid.

Highly unlikely, have you checked he impeller.
Put the machine on to drain, can you hear the pump run? If not then you need to check if the impeller can turn freely.

Yes, if you unscrew this you should see the impeller at the back.
Draining through the small hose at the front wont eliminate a possible blockage in the drain hose from the back. If the impeller is free see if the machine will drain by gravity as I have already suggested.

Martin wrote:It could be that as the module mounting on these is pretty frail and as a result the module has dropped down slightly on the right hand side not allowing contact with that 4th button….maybe?
Good thought and worth checking but you could feel the click of the switch it actuates.

peerielass wrote:The grey small hose was out at the back, put that back in and got a new clip for the bigger black thing
Is this the corrugated drain hose or the smaller fill hose that screws to the back of the machine or are you referring to a hose inside the machine?
With water in the machine, Take the end of grey corrugated hose furthest from the machine and lay it into a bowl making sure the whole of the hose is below the water level in the machine.
If the water drains into the bowl it would suggest there isn’t a blockage and hoses are clear.Twoten

Thanks for the coding sheet Martin, it’s much appreciated. I will take a trip back and see if it can be resolved.
The codes all show an action for the button fourth button so there can’t be an explanation for it not working but I think it’s worth taking a look at and trying to recode.
My money is on it not programing because if the fourth button doesn’t work I won’t be able to get into the program mode.
I will let you know.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi washing machine ZWF 1430W- Not draining.
What was causing the leak and what did you change to rectify this?
When the machine stops with the error code E20 is there a lot of water in the drum?
When you put the machine on to drain can you here the pump running?

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGV4313GB/12 no quick wash!
This is a fully integrated model with the buttons on top of the door instead of on the front so I didn’t think this used the ‘plastic spring on the PCB box.
Usually if this happens the button goes soft and spongy, you can still feel it click the button on the PCB exactly the same as the working buttons.

ParticipantRe: dammed public
I got wise to this, now unless I know the customer I ask them if they would like to know my charges, I then get to explain I won’t work for nothing.
If they don’t like it I suggest they look for someone who does free estimates and wish them luck!

ParticipantRe: Connect Guarantee
I don’t have too much of a problem returning items to Connect but what really hacks me off is when all the items are credits are raised individually, they impose unreasonable handling costs and then because I pay the account with a credit card the amount credited to the card doesn’t relate to the credits.
I have never known such a mess!
