It must be the new design, I haven’t seen anything like it before. Can you give a more detailed description of how I split the front of the tub from the base? Do I have to undo anything inside the tub as we would have done on the earlier machine?

I will take a look at this, as the machine is already empty and doesn’t fill will it still give this error?

This could explain why the error comes up after a couple of minutes before filling.

I couldn’t find the float switch or pressure diaphragm on this one.
There’s the impeller built into the metering unit with a replaceable reed switch but I couldn’t find an anti-flood system.

gandh1 wrote:has it got the mirrored glass? and assumed you have asked the customer for the instruction manual??
The glass is smoked.
There are no instructions, receipts or any other paperwork that would give a clue to the model.
If all else fails I will go back and get a picture of the original element and try and identify that way.

Thanks for looking at this,
I don’t think it’s F121KBIXGB, the element shown for this model on the connect site shows the terminals at the widest points, the one fitted had terminals close together in the centre.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA11 Bearing Change Epic
First of all, I would have taken iadom’s advice and changed the tub support. I wouldn’t entertain refitting a damaged shaft even after cleaning and packing with grease.
Regarding the interlock, the action of the door latch should operate the switch to make the machine lock and start. If the machine starts when you activate the lock manually the problem will be either the door catch isn’t pushing the switch enough or the interlock is faulty.

There was no sign of blown tracks or damage to either board in the control panel.

It would be difficult to give an idea on how long bearings will last once they start to go. As you’ve had a year out of them I think any more time would be considered a bonus.
Continuing to use the machine shouldn’t be a problem, as the situation worsens some of the following may happen.
- Oil may start to appear on the clothes as water seeps back into the drum from the bearings. This will often appear as a series of dots that match the pattern of holes in the drum.
The element could become damaged from the loose drum which will prevent the water from heating, depending on the model the machine will either stick in the middle of a wash or wash in cold water.
The drum may stop rotating caused by excess play in the bearings making the rear pulley move out of alignment.
The noise becomes such that you can’t tolerate any longer

ParticipantRe: AEG 52435-W Washing Machine not draining.
Not this time round I haven’t, I was thinking on the lines of it being the original fault where I had checked for that but it would make sense to check it again this time round.
I will let you know what I find.

I don’t think so, they said the dial moves to the off position, if it was the rinse hold it would stop before the spin.

ParticipantRe: Crusader CT31V Door handle
Thanks Jim,
I will order one today. The customer will be happy, they had to replace the washing machine and oven in Feb because they were both BER, yesterday I told them the dishwasher is now BER so they will be glad I can get the part for the tumble dryer.
I agree with you about Materpart special orders, I look elsewhere if that happens.

Thanks Penguin,
Is the fill chamber on this one behind the left side panel?
Which reed switch?
Keith.
