    Re: Diplomat D/W ADP8322 7 flashes

    Thanks martin,

I don’t think this machine has a flow meter, it uses the pressure switch mounted in the right side of the sump. The one in the machine isn’t gunged up and the=he machine seems to fill to level and start to wash which I would have thought indicates it’s working.

The machine fill which suggests the inlet valve is OK.

    Any other ideas?

    Re: Hotpoint CTD00P Fans

I just received the fan, the motor this fits on had a splined shaft.

Do you know if the inside of the fan should have splines in the moulding to match and prevent the fan from spinning on the shaft?

    Thanks,

    Keith.

    Re: Risk Assessment Forms?

I was sub contracted by an electrical supplier to repair a dishwasher for the council.
When I turned up I was greeted by 3 guys in suits who asked first of all if I had a works order which I didn’t, I was then asked if I had a Risk assessment! I explained I had been called by a third party and made final arrangement with a secretary at the Town hall and nobody had expressed the need for either
They took me through to security who had simple forms at hand that cold be filled out.
I just put the risk as ‘electric shock’ and the precaution as ‘unplug the machine’ on reflection I should have put ‘use common sense’.

They weren’t sure which of 3 machines had the problem so I had to test them first…… after checking with a secretary in the office with one of the machines a couple of calls later we found the machine in question.
The machine was dead………………….asked if they had checked the fuse to which they took a deep intake of breath and said ‘we can’t do that’, we would have to call an electrician’ so checked the supply which was dead, found the switch on the wall……..turned it on, problem solved!

Re: Original Servis Quartz any out there

As an electronic machine I think control system and fault codes led the market.

When I worked for Servis/Homecare I had a customer who swore he would never have another Servis machine because of the service (or lack of) he was receiving. He couldn’t believe it when I turned up to do an under guarantee call on his Hitachi! 😮

I have a few of these left that I work on but it’s getting to a point where parts are a problem. The hoses are perishing and the rubbers on the wheels split so moving this on a vinyl floor becomes a problem. I can’t remember the last time I had a board problem with one of these though.

Thanks for the information I was thinking it was more than likely going to be a Bosch minus the lid.

I think I should be able to persuade the landlord this is the best option.

    Thanks,

    Keith.

    £38.91 for me from Connect.

You really have to watch their prices when ordering!

I have also found on one occasion when an item has been added to the shopping basket, the price had increased significantly before ordering later that day.[/code]

    Thanks for the reply neilsukwg,

I know the type, a ballafix valve.

I was hoping for a restrictor to fit inside the inlet valve connection rather than altering the plumbing.

I have already priced this based on a module, I am waiting to hear if they want it done,

I won’t be too upset if they decide not to replace it!

Thanks smartin that was going to be my next question.

If I get a smartcard will it come already programed or will I need a reader?

leavemetogetonwithit wrote:“Jammed motor” presumably means no signal from tacho. Could be a dodgy crimp/IDC connection around motor plug area.

If this was the case I wouldn’t have thought the motor would have turned at the normal wash speed several times each time tested before giving an error. I would have expected either no rotation or the motor ramp up to full speed before showing a fault.

If the customer decides they want it done I was thinking of using EMW in case, it’s a shame you don’t get a years guarantee anymore.

    Re: Bosch Slimline Diswasher

I had a similar problem with a Bosch.

The control unit settings had been changed so the buttons being pressed didn’t relate to the washes selected.
