Re: Zanussi double oven selector switch.

The switch was red in colour, to be honest it looks like connections pt no – 5031687574220.

What I was wondering is can I fit Pt No – 5031687966872 ?
    Is the wiring different?

    Re: Neff fan oven elements

    Cowboy tip of the day,

When I started back fixing cookers 5 yrs ago I got lots of callbacks from Neff/Bosch ovens.
If its a Neff 2 loop that keeps going down then I would fit a Zanussi 3 turn.

If its the 1/2 moon element I always remove the centre bracket, sprise the element apart to give a bigger gap, put some nuts as spacers between the back panel and rear wall.
Not been back to a neff for 2yrs, happy days.

Have fitted 1000’s of homark 3 turn fan elements and only ever get come backs on Candy ovens, the element start tripping the RCD.

At the end of the day 18 month use for a £650 fridge is disgusting.

Even if the dishwasher was cheap it should last longer than a couple of months!

What a joke this industry is.

Why can he not get his money back, the real wan*ers are the ones that make this crap.

Thanks for the info, sounds like the ones from Homespares could be the genuine ones.
Does anyone know if the new 1700w element still have ego stamped on the bracket ?

Re: Looking to buy a a Pocket PC or Smartphone?

    Nokia E70 mobile phone.

Same size as a normal mobile but opens up to reveal a qwerty keyboard.

Alon dictaphone software allows you to record customers details during a phone call, I record there name, postcode, address, tel, make model fault and appointment details.
After the call I rename the recording with the date and time of the visit and first half of postcode. ex ‘08041610WA7-0151****666.AMR’.
Putting the year, month date then time in this order means the jobs will be displayed in sequence.
The dictaphone software displays 9 files at once so I can usually see where and when the jobs for a particular day are.
TomTom software for navigation, just setup an Itinary for that day starting and finishing with your home address.
There’s a brilliant peice of PC software called ‘tyre’ that can display a Tomtom ‘itn’ itinary file, it shows the route on google maps and also calculated the total distance.

Handbase database software allows you to log each job as you go along, you can include any kind of detail such as report, cash or chq, job active complete or cancelled, amount, parts used etc.
The database exports to an excel speadsheet at the end of the day, week month or year depending on how often you do your bookkeeping.

I’ve been using this system for the last 18months and having all the info at hand anytime of the day make life a lot easier.
If a previous cust calls I can usually get the job details on display during the call so I know what was repaired the last time.

Re: Pattern Heaters: A cautionary tale 🙁

At the end of the day pattern or original these element probably cost about 50p to make.
Sometimes the partern part makers get the design wrong but if the original was any good you wouldn’t be changing it in the first place!

    Re: Neff butterfly oven elements

These cookers are a F***ing joke.
I only fit the original elements but have had nothing but trouble with this particular oven.

The fault is down to the fact that the element is too small for such a high watt element.

Basic fan oven fact which applies to pattern or original elements is:
The longer the element the long it will last.
Two loop element last half the life of three loops.
This Bosch/Naff element is equivalent to a one loop element.
The first time I saw it I thought ‘How Sh1t, this is going to give me some jip.’
Sure enough loads of problems, what a crap design.
