ParticipantSounds like something might be the matter with the selector switch on the circuit board, or even the board configuration itself. If you are confident with electronics and how to get to the circuit board, you could have a look yourself and check if the selector bit looks like it’s making contact all the way around, otherwise it’s probably a job for an engineer. Always switch off and unplug before doing anything to a machine.
QER Ltd repair circuit boards, they might be able to help if you find something untoward, see http://www.qer.biz/servReps.htm
If you need to replace the board however, it will set you back between £140 and £180 delivered depending on the machine’s serial number and where you get the part from.washingmachinewoman
ParticipantThis is interesting, Repairtech assure me they are still receiving Montpellier jobs, though less frequently (3 months of silence’s worth of less frequently!) and that they are going to sort out my access to the technical information. Apparently the job they assigned to me was passed to R/T by Montpellier. So not sure, but maybe that is ok after all. Better be.

ParticipantSteve,
The way I got back into the portal was through their website https://repairtechuk.co.uk/, then select Engineer > Link to Portal
However I can’t log in to access technical information if I select Engineer > Log In.I have declined this job. There’s no way I’m going to risk not getting paid for it. I have told them my reasons: it’s clearly a different problem with the machine one year on from the previous call and they no longer deal with Montpellier calls.

ParticipantHas anyone been receiving further Montpellier jobs from Repairtech?
I have just got one, for a customer I have already been out to last year (different problem). Tried phoning but R/T office is closed for the day. After trying a few things, I have managed to get back in their portal. But I’m not sure about accepting this job since afaik they no longer have the Montpellier contract.I did get paid no problem for the last Montpellier job I did back in October BTW.

ParticipantDid you accept these jobs?
Looks like I can no longer get to the technical information for engineers on the R/T website, it doesn’t recognise my password. I can still get on the portal on my computer, but no longer on my mobile on which the version of Chrome is more recent. I did receive a Montpellier job on 1st Oct, i.e. the day the aftersales went to Minerva, but nothing since. Invoice was raised fine on their system. Tried their phone number this morning, just sounded one beep and nothing else after that. Tried again now and it’s ringing ok. First thing this morning it felt like they’d fallen off the face of the earth, though it’s been more encouraging since.washingmachinewoman

ParticipantRe: Water filled weights?
Describing concrete as “natural rocks and stuff” is misleading, as if it was environmentally friendly.
The “stuff” is cement, the manufacture of which is one of the three main producers of carbon dioxide… see Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete# … and_healthHowever I agree the water filled weights sound completely barmy.
Probably means it will catch on… :rolls:washingmachinewoman
ParticipantRe: Samsung DV70F5E0HGW Tumble dryer
Must admit I nearly didn’t want to know when I saw it had gas in it, but I kept well away from the sealed unit and the compressor and pipes, and all was well.
Customer swears by it. Apparently, only costs £20 a year to run and dries very well. Except she just spent £120 having it fixed after less than 3 years… ‘cos the parts aren’t cheap!washingmachinewoman

In case anyone encounters same problem, fitted new back bearing and belt (also broken blower fan) today and it’s done the trick. Machine nice and quiet again.
The hardest bit was remembering where the millions of screws went back as you pretty much have to strip down the whole machine.June 26, 2017 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Hoover OPH616 not working, lights flashing, door locks #448466washingmachinewoman

Hi, first have a look if the machine is giving you an error code. Read http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/faul … ault-codes

The fuse was indeed the problem… machine top spin speed is 1400rpm, the hotpoint thermal fuse is for 800 to 1200rpm, also due to other advise on ukwhitegoods on replacing thermal cut outs, decided not to do it. Customer decided to go with new motor. Thanks all.

Found the forum post, thanks for the pointer! https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsph … 89989.html
Had to google it, as search fonction on ukwhitegoods forum unhelpfully removes some terms. Very interesting. Have to check this machine’s spin speed as suggested part is for 1200rpm.
BTW, I would never short a thermal cut out, it’s there for a reason! :fire:washingmachinewoman
ParticipantRe: Bosch WAB28060GB/05 no drum action
I take it you mean the motor pins, not the wiring plug?
If it turns out to be blown, I guess that means a new motor?washingmachinewoman

Great, thanks!
