ParticipantI remember ESL in Aintree, I used to buy new Creda washers from them in fives (for discount) and Phil Rylance used to let me store them there until needed and it was only thanks to Harry the delivery driver tipping me a nod that they were going bust that I got them before they closed…where have the years gone:(

Participantcornwell40 wrote:Anyone have a work round for getting on the newer hoover door seals. Wire and 4″ spring inner retainer onto a greased seal?
I usually remove the door and put some cable ties on one end of the spring through one of the hinge mounting holes and a cable tie on the other end of the spring to pull on, this stops the retainer and spring from movng when you pull on it, sounds a bit heath robinson but you can fit the seal retaining ring quite easily and the light engineering oil actually helps it to slide into position. I will attach a few photos as it will explain it better but it works.

ParticipantNAC are saturating my area with online advertising appearing to be local to potential customers, they also sent me an email asking if I would do work for them and I did not respond also another company called Glowtech doing similar here on Merseyside.

ParticipantSuch a shame that EMW have ceased trading, they had provided great service for a lot of years, I often wondered how they could get boards to your door so fast.

ParticipantI have found maddocks to be brilliant over the years and even through lockdown they hardly missed a beat, however, I saw connect and Qualtex downgrade service and hike up prices on my accounts once they started selling on Ebay, and Qualtex just put the permanent “out of stock” notice on my account lately, no explanation at all but I know why, obviously they are servicing Ebay customers, I guess the 20 odd years of holding an account and buying from them counts for nothing.
I was looking for Maddocks on Ebay and cannot find them using the seller search or HTM so I am curious to know what name they sell under so I can see for myself seeing that I am spending more time and money buying parts on Ebay. Does anybody have a link to an item being sold by Maddocks on Ebay?washtec
Participantkwatt wrote:Maddocks are not trade only.
They sell on eBay and Amazon.
Disguised yes, but they do.
ASWO do not.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but do you know what name Maddocks trade under on EBAY? I usually buy from Maddocks but lately have found that some of their prices are more expensive than buying the item on Ebay after you factor in VAT and postage and it is getting a bit time consuming comparing parts and I would be interested to see how they compare to their website.

ParticipantI was rinsed by an ebay seller for disposable masks and hand sanitiser but at least I will be protected when going into jobs and I have forewarned my calls that I will arrive in protective gear, plus my wife is still working in a school that is open for keyworkers children so nobody in my house is in isolation anyway.
strange times indeed.washtec
ParticipantI just received an email from service site asking if I would like to do work for them almost a year on, it did not take long to find this thread and companies house has very little information of worth. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11802272/filing-history
as someone stated, it has a familiar ring to it.washtec
ParticipantI carry 2 of everything that I use regularly on my van as van stock and have always been safe in the knowledge that between Maddocks and Qualtex I could get replenishment by the next day so I would never get caught short with no parts on my van for a routine job, so should I start carrying 3 or 4 of everything to compensate for Qualtex new longer postal times or just order from Maddocks who have never let me down over next day delivery ever to my memory, sadly I wont be risking Qualtex again.
