Have you checked for continuity up to the module? Could be a broken wire in the door loom perhaps?

Re: Best place to buy microwave spares?

I agree Bryan, but in this case the microwave is an inverter and the direction of the fins and the mountings were pretty crucial because of the cooling from the fan. Apparently Inverter mags are different than cap and transformer mags which I didnt know until I enquired.

Yep, the last 3 weeks have been awfull!! If I could have predicted it I would have taken them as holliday. Just about managed to make a small wage this week but it really isnt good!!
Where are all the good jobs these days? I cant remember the last time I fitted a circular fan element to an oven or a pump to a washing machine. It seems to be all the c**p jobs that are filtering through if any at all .
Im just glad in a way that it isnt only me because at the start of it I was begining to think it was and the paranoia was kicking in..

Well done Dave!! It worked!! I have one very happy customer who’s got the job done MUCH cheaper (like £150 cheaper) than I told him, and I havn’t had to pay out stupid money to buy a pcb while worrying if it was the real problem!
Im well happy!! Thanks again your a superstar!

Ok, I have changed it now and the board is ready to go back onto the dishwasher. I will post the outcome of it.
    Thanks once again.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your advice. I removed the 1.5uf capacitor from the pcb, it’s rated at 275vac and changed it. The old cap that I removed – I charged it with a megger and shorted it. It gave out a pretty decent crack. I wouldnt have wanted it on my fingers put it that way. Would you think this suggests the caps not the problem?
    Regards.

    Is it quiet or what??

Iv’e been sat on my back side for about the last 3 weeks praying for the phone to ring. As luck has it for me I do quite a lot of work for estate agents and 3 manufactures so I have managed to turn to that which is ok but the 30 day payment term isnt very nice.
Is it just me or is anybody else feeling the pinch?
Is it Area related perhaps? Im in Dewsbury West Yorkshire which is a very highly populated area with low, middle and upper class citizens..
It’s feeling very slow, might have to see if the local supermarket need some help stacking their stocks soon if things dont pick up..

I like to fit the better reliable ceset motor and make a nice tidy proffit!! Shame they dont include the thin profile jublee clips with them tho.. I normally find myself stuck for these on the job, then end up looking for the nearest B&Q or Wickes..

Yes Seamy, the earth tag was good and I made a good new connection with a crimp tag (using a propper crimp tool) I even noticed it was a very good tight fit!

I think QER do a repair on these! I had one once but it was a re-con washer I was trying to sort out and I didn’t want to put too much money into it so it bacame a doner machine.

Does the machine show any display at all? if it doesn’t I would doubt it’s the interlock.

    Re: work dead

Hardly had any private work for the last 3 weeks, its been really poor but as luck would have it CDA have had 2 engineers off in my area and have been throwing about 10 calls per day at me so I have got through it nicely so far. The only problem is I have to keep up with the invoicing and wait for their BAKS day before the money comes in but it’s lovely when it does! No cash on the hip tho.. 🙁
