    Re: Awkward Situation

try this. you go to a garage and get your water pump fixed then soon after your rad springs a leak. would a garage stand for any discount there both under your bonnet ther both cooling parts ………they were both working fine when you drove down the road. would the motor trade offer discount? dream on. your being very fair, its what most of us would do. now look at it this way what if you fitted a motor on your first visit and the customer then found that he could have got away with just an end frame at much cheaper price he might well have had course to complain heads he wins tails you loose.

playing it straight is always best and dont forget if you do you play it straight trading standards are there to advise and help YOU as well as the customer

    Re: HOOVER AL110 – Airlock ???

machine was moved to temporary position whilst building work is in progress. the outlet hose was unclipped from the back of cabinet and run low through a wall to an open top outlet pipe. if I lifted the hose to purge the air its ok. with the pipe refixed to the cabinet and run into a bucket (dustbin) the water flow was very slow for the first few seconds but when the air was forced out due to water flow machine worked fine. on second test there seemed to be sufficent water weight left in the pump to purge any air that might be sucked back into the end of the hose left the machine with the customer who is altering the waste pipe arangement.

Re: Blank Off The Hot To Avoid This Tragedy !!

when we used to sell machines and the cold only started to come in we used to always blank off the unused hot. I’ve seen loads of supposedly professionally fitted machines with the hot left exposed. If I come across one during a repair I will fit a cap. WHY WHY WHY dont the manufacturers supply one? costs pence saves pounds………………or more
