bought the bearing tool kit couple of years back. just crap! went over to rear halves as we could only manage to get about 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the bearings out. the first time we did bearing change (before we bought the tool kit) it was a case of bash them out but fitting the seal without damage was tricky (ended up turning a sleeve from a log on the lathe to do the job) the tool kit does have a seal insertion tool which is great but for large bearings like these the pullers are too mickey mouse

might be compliant, after all hoover new wave /soft wave motors were not earthed. I’m not sure if internal components can be classed as class two. anyone know the full story?

Re: zanussi drum making a noise

if washing is all covered in fluff if MIGHT have shredded a sock etc shine a torch into the drum if you can see a suspect hold it in place with a small screwdriver and turn the drum to move it to the top and remove the breather hose and pull it out. failing that…………….. tub out …………easy job!

    Re: A Warning

this only goes to show how easily we can all get complacent. one mistake could be your last one. personally its the hard wired ones that worry me most as you are in danger even trying to check for voltage at the mains input before you start work. it seems that every other one of these machines is connected via the switch the other side of the wall or is maked up as boiler, outside light or some other unconnected item.

    get well soon

first one of these we sold the customer insisted it was faulty as it never took hot water. we checked ,it didnt ,then changed it for a tricity.

they must have had a lot of hot valves to get rid of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dodging CORGI regs to fix oven?

as I understand it you must NOT disconnect a gas unoin that requires tools to reconnect i.e. if you need a spanner to shift it DONT !

p.s. I wonder if some of those gorgi gas fitters either understand or carry out electrical safety tests if they were to fit said motor?
